Tuesday is color challenge day on SCS and today we had a great combination to play with. Bashful Blue, Celery and Basic Gray. I thought of my brand new dog and dog house images from Rubbernecker Stamp Company and decided to go for a doggy holiday scene. I stamped my dog image and masked so I could stamp the dog house and trees around him. I painted the house and dog images with re inkers and the trees in celery. I used my artist pen to draw little lights around the opening of the dog house, painted with re inkers and then sponged over each with a dauber filled with banana. It isn’t my finest sketching moment but I still like the look of the festive brightness. I took a dry brush and filled in the trees by brushing directly over the ink pad and then using a stippling motion on the trees. It is just a soft touch to fill in the tree for texture. I used a sponge to add bashful blue to the sky area. I painted on white craft ink with a small brush to create the snow and the icicles on the dog house and then embossed with white embossing powder. I used a sponge dauber to apply white craft ink for the snow on the ground area and also for the falling snow and embossed again with white embossing powder. I added Diamond Glaze and Dazzling Diamond to the lights for sparkle and a little glitter glue on the doggy mustache, tail and feet. I loved the little oval tag using the sentiment "Joy" as this dog is so happy looking and playful. This was a fun challenge and I loved having the opportunity to use my new stamps.

You’re killing me!!! This is beautifully done Kittie. Great seeing you 😉
Kitty! What a cute cute card! Love the snow!
Your cards are just beautiful. I wish I could duplicate them but I think I would need personal instructions. They look almost watercolored. Never tried re-inkers..could you explain more about that technique. You are a fabulous artist…just love every card and enjoy your blog.
What cute little holiday scene Kittie. Between your snowman and dog scenes, I don’t know which one I like better; they’re both my favs.
Kitty, this is the first time I am posting a comment although I have been an admirer of your work for a long time. You are such an artist, I love everything you make- this card is no exception. I had a question – how long does it take you to make your cards? From the look of them, I would think it takes many, many hours. I’m sure I’m not the first person to ask this but I was just curious.
Sincerely,
Lisa R.
Love all your snow scenes. Being in California does have a few drawbacks. You are an amazing artist, glad I found your blog. I have many of your cards favorited on SCS so I am so pleased you have a blog. Thanks for the many hours of blogging enjoyment to come.
This is gorgeous! I am always amazed at your creativity!
Oh my goodness! What a sweet card…!
Woof! Woof! Buddy is so cute! I hope he isn’t too cold in that snowy scene. Looks like he needs a new roof, too, cause he has icicles hanging from his eaves. Kittie, I love it! What an especially talented stamper you are!
Oh my gosh Kittie, I LOVE this! You did such a great job! I am so glad you have a blog now as I have always admired your work!
