Saturday’s are Inspiration Challenge day on Splitcoaststamper’s. The jacket you see posted is the inspiration piece.  I was struck by the black and print colors on the jacket and loved it combined with the crisp white shirt.

My thoughts went instantly to a scrap pieces of Figgy design paper that had several colors and patterns.  The paper is not an exact match to the jacket colors by any means but close enough for government work. I was been so inspired this morning with a paper piecing project done by DeborahLynneS  where she placed white paper pieced snowmen over designer paper and decided I had to try it out myself.  I wanted to add perfectly white snowmen with darling color clothes over a totally black background full of white snow fall, ground snow and white covered trees.  I stamped duplicate images of the snowmen on white card stock and designer paper with craft black ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.  I cut out my snowmen to use as the base for the paper piecing of the designer paper clothing.  I cut out the different outfits of clothing and adhered to the snowmen with mod podge.  I stamped my trees and falling snow with white craft ink and embossed with white embossing powder.  I attached the snowmen to the scene and then daubed white craft ink all around the ground and the bottom of the snowmen and embossed again with white embossing powder.  Here’s a hint..When you heat emboss using black card stock and white embossing powder you need to be sure and use your embossing buddy. I have never seen anything stick like white embossing powder on black card stock.  I chose to layer the main layer over another black base and to add a little more color by using two different colors of ribbon.  This was a very fun project.
