The Technique Lover’s challenge on SCS today was to make a little tea bag holder. We all have people that we want to remember during the holiday season and we seem to always be searching for just a "little something" to give as a token of friendship or gratitude. This little tea bag holder is a darling way to give something that you have made yourself and filled with a touch of warmth that a package of cocoa or a tea bag can bring.
My little snowman scene is fast and easy. I stamped my favorite of all snowmen from Tags & More with Stazon on watercolor paper and surrounded him with trees from Lovely as a Tree. I used a dry brush brushed directly across the Wasabi ink pad and then brushed on the trees to fill them in for depth. I sponged the sky with Bashful Blue. I painted the little hat and scarf with a brush and re inkers and added a little gray to his body for shading. I used a fine brush to add a little snow to the trees with craft ink and a larger brush to paint the ink on the ground and then embossed with white embossing powder. I cut the frames with Nestabilities dies. If you haven’t used Nestabilities yet….believe me..they are worth every penny.
I created the little tag inside using scalloped and circle punches and created a little frame to place over the little snowman face. He is just so cute. I used my craft knife to place a slit on the fold of the and secured a ribbon through the hole and attached on the inside cover. I placed the ribbon on the top cover and secured before adhering the complete main layer so I could tie a cute bow for closure. This was a fun little project.

Kittie, I was looking at today’s card additions on Splitcoast and I always stop dead in my tracks when I see one of your creations. I just about came out of my socks when I saw you have a new blog. Of course, I had to run right over to it and congratulate you! I’ve been wondering why you didn’t have one. You’re one of the most talented people on SCS. I put your blog on my list to check every day. I look forward to “visiting” with you every day.
Good Luck!
