Treasure Hunts, Pixie Pouches and Easter Bunnies.  What do these have in common?  I am excited that I get to give the first clue in the Rubbernecker Treasure Hunt.  I wanted to play in the Technique Lover’s Challenge which was to make Pixie Poucges and decided to make an Easter pocket to send to my husband’s great niece. Give all of this thought for the clue to the treasure while I tell you a little about my project.
Kc_bunny_with_hat_and_basket
This little Easter Bunny is from the Rubbernecker Easter collection.  I dug through my stacks of designer paper and found this two sided coordinating paper and thought it was perfect for this little bunny.  I used paper piecing to create the hat, bow, dress and basket.  If you don’t know, paper piecing is a fun way to add lots of punch to your creations. All you do is stamp your images on a designer paper of your choice, cut out parts and piece them together over the image stamped on your main layer.  You can pop up some of the images for added depth. After I finished my bunny I sponged on a little color and added some texture and flowers to the image.  I think this is so cute.  I used three different egg images from the Easter collection as well and piled them up on the card pocket layer.  OK.  So have you figured out what the first clue is for the treasure.  You just need to go to Rubberneckers and go to the Easter collection to start your journey.  If you don’t go….well…I can’t be responsible.
To top it all off, for those of you who have been patient and read all the way through my blog article.  I am giving away blog candy.  Really good blog candy.  All you have to do to claim the candy is leave me a comment and tell me how long you have been stamping.  I have been stamping for five years. Oh….and do you want to know what the blog candy is………???
Rubbernecker_10_gift_card_form_2
GuessWhat!!!!  I forgot to mention that there are three other design team members giving away blog candy today as well.  Check out their links.
Leave your comment by midnight Tuesday and I will announce the randomly picked winner by noon on Wednesday, the 23rd. Good Luck!!!

  3. Hi Kittie, I have been stamping for two years this coming April. It is hard to believe that I am so new at it. If you saw my craft room (yeah, built one of those) and all of my necessary tools (yeah, it doesn’t take long to accumulate) you would think I have been stamping for many, many years!!!

Oh, I’ve been stamping for uhm….let me see…about three weeks! Hah! I’m having so much fun and learning so much from you guys! I’ve been a scrapbooker for years but never played with stamps really. Then my coworker gave me a box of 30 Stampin’ Up sets so I went online to see what I could do with these….and voila! now I’m hooked! Feeling my way around right now but I’m having fun!

  11. I’ve been stamping for 4 years. My girlfriend introduced me to stamping when I retired because I didn’t have any hobbies. Well, I kind of went crazy with ordering stamps, paper, copics, etc. My spare bedroom is now my stamping room.
Your cards are just so cool. I just love how you add the backgrounds. Most of the time I print out your cards and try to duplicate but I think I need a lot of help. Do you make house calls??

  18. Hi Kittie: I love your pixie pouches, your bunny is so soft and sweet. I have been admiring your work for the past two years at SCS and love your blog. You are an amazing artist. Now, I have some rubber stamps that have the dates of 1984-85-86 on them. When my daughter was very young we went to some stamp classes at a stamp store. Lots of princesses, fairies and butterflies. That fell by the way side when the little brother was born. My next exprience stamping was six years ago when a SU demo came to our Creative Memories workshop to show us how to stamp in our scrap books. That was the end of scrapbooking for me. I’ve been a SU demo for six years. Thanks for the blog candy, it’s a doozie!

I am having my cousins children oon Sunday afternoon and am looking forward to teaching them a little bit about the craft. Theey are 8 and 3 so look at my gallery to see what they made! Hugs to you Kittie!!!

I have been stamping less than 1 year-I made a scrapbook but didn’t do any stamping on it. I was checking scrapping online and ran on to SCS and that is when my stamping started. I have just been getting all the basics together and one thing leads to another!! (grin)

  32. I wish that I could say I had been stamping for five years and have my projects look like yours! But I can’t and that is okay too, since I love doing it no matter what the result! I have been stamping since 1980 – that is when I bought my first stamp – which I still have! I didn’t spend a lot of time doing it and took many years off inbetween when the kids were little. Now I stamp almost every day! I enjoy seeing your cards, Kittie!

I think I’m starting on my 4th year (and when I see you’ve stamped for 5….I need to work on my stamping more! lol!!) I admit that I never thought it would consume my spare time as much as it does! I enjoy it and look forward to progressing more this year!
