Good Wednesday morning. Broni is hosting Wacky Wednesday and has challenged us to a hot color challenge- bright yellow, orange and green. You can find all the details about participating in the challenge and how to win a 40% Discount on your next Rubbernecker order at the Rubbernecker Blog.
I wanted to play with the Guy Stuff collection again since we are so close to Father’s Day. I have to admit that masculine cards are a little more difficult for me. Although the colors for the challenge are very bright I decided to tone them down with lots of brown and just use them as highlights against the dark canoe and the background. I stamped the canoe on watercolor paper and once again on Prism Intense Orange and Intense Yellow. After I painted the canoe I cut out the star and trim and attached it with Mod Podge. I stamped the two different sized cattails on Prism Spring Willow Medium and again on Suede Brown Dark and cut out. I used 7Gypsies Market designer paper for the background and thought it created the perfect setting the simple images with no embellishments needed. You know….canoes and ribbon just don’t seem to mix.
Stamps: Rubbernecker Guy Stuff Collection- Canoe, Cattail and Petite Cattail Paper: 7 Gypsies , Prism Intense Yellow, Intense Orange, Spring Willow Medium, Suede Brown Dark, Brown, Watercolor Ink: Brilliance Black, Brushed Corduroy Accessories: Mod Podge, Brushes, Glue Dots, Distressing Tool
My second project was for the SCS Color Challenge but it fit perfectly into our Wacky Wednesday challenge as well. I added bright red to kick the colors up one more notch and love the bright, summer feel of this project. I stamped the Wild Flower image three times on watercolor paper and watercolored with reinkers and a brush. I layered the flowers on bright orange and applied it to a bright green card base. I loved adding all the buttons to the flower heads and the green ribbon and I thought the one little cut out flower and leaf was the perfect finishing touch for the sentiment tag.
Stamps: Rubbernecker Wild Flower Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine, Watercolor Ink: Riding Hood Red, Tangerine, Kiwi, Banana Accessories: Buttons, Grosgrain, Oval Punch, Mod Podge (flower on tag)
What a fabulous guy card, Kittie….I love how you made the colors and papers work with all the distressing and sponging!!!! Your flower card is absolutely gorgeous with your awesome coloring and those beautiful stamps…you rocked this challenge, gf!!!
These are both just perfect, Kittie! I LOVE the toned down colors of the “guy” card! Great image to use too! The wildflower card is happy, fun and amazing!!
Awesome guy card Kittie! Love the flower card, beautiful!!
Wow, great cards!! Love the darker colors and the masculine feel of the canoe card, and then you go in the opposite direction with a bright and floral-y feminine card. Beautiful!!!!!!!!
I knew you would rock these colors Kittie. The canoe with the fussy cut cat tails is just a feast for the eyes and the flower card is fabulous in it’s own right!
Both cards are great-like the colors in the canoe card. Neat cards. tfs
Kittie, how absolutely clever for the man card! Just FABULOUS!

Your flowers are so lovely and cheery!!!
Great cards, Kittie!!!
Both cards are fabulous Kittie… I love the guy card for sure, and that sweet flower card is darling.
I have to tell you that I am in awe of your talent! Your cards are simply beautiful, and they have a style all of their own. You are certainly an inspiration to me and I plan to come back often to see what you’ve done. I was looking through your gallery on Splitcoast and LOVED your barn window and tree that you did back in late April. Stunning! Best, Curt
