Caroling, Caroling,

Caroling, caroling, now we go
Christmas bells are ringing
Caroling, caroling thru the snow
Christmas bells are ringing
Joyous voices sweet and clear
Sing the sad of heart to cheer
Ding dong, ding dong
Christmas bells are ringing

Can you hear Nat King Cole singing these words?  I love this song and thought of it as I created my snowy caroling project yesterday for the Featured Stamper Challenge on SCS.  Birgit (Biggan) was the featured stamper and I was so inspired by this project using fall colors and two darling children. I wanted to keep the theme of using two children and keep the same layout but changed the color combination and the seasonal theme.

KC Carolers Boy and Girl with Tree 2

This Elzybells image has three children in it but I covered one up as I inked the stamp so I could just have the couple for my scene.  I stamped the image, masked and then stamped the trees several times around the masked image to create the background. I chose to color the kids in bright colors as the images are very mod and I especially love bright blue and red together. I sponged the sky using a light layer of the same blue that I colored the boy’s coat and hat with and then heat set.  I added snowflakes and the white ground snow with white craft ink and embossed with white embossing powder.  I sponged yellow around  the lantern to show a glow in the night sky.  I used a white Sharpie to color the girl’s scarf and mittens and Liquid Appliqué for the pompoms.  I covered the ground snow lightly with glue and added Flower Soft as the finishing touch to the scene.

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving week.  We are happy to have Bob’s mother with us for this holiday and are already having great meals of Bob’s favorites.  Yum!
