Sparkly Winter Window

Happy Tuesday!  It doesn’t seem possible that Christmas is already past and the New Year is upon us.  Time sure flies!  I played in the Tuesday Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge to use Bashful Blue, Night of Navy and White and a little sparkle. I decided to create a snowy winter window scene using my new small Madison Window by Poppy Stamps.  Here is what I came up with.

I cut out two windows and cut the sides off of each of them and fused them together to create a double hung window.  I like the effect of covering almost the whole card front. I stamped the tree from Rubbernecker Kittie Kits Fall Harvest set and touched a bit of white craft ink in the branches and embossed with white embossing powder. I  created a cloudy background using a hand cut cloud template and a sponge.

I thought the little white fence with flower soft snow would be cute in the yard and in front of the tree.

The finishing touch was adding the white sprigs of foliage and navy flowers.  I added touches of Stickles on the flowers, the foliage and even the tree limbs and branches but it doesn’t show well in the photos.

I hope you are enjoying your final week of 2011.

  1. The clouds you made for the background are so perfect, Kittie and a great use of the bashful blue. I am so loving these window cards and the scenes that you create with them. I’ve had one of these window dies on order for a while and it looks like I will have to create “Spring” scenes by the time I get it (lol).

  7. Your window treatment concept for winter is refreshing! Although designed for a card, adopting it to a real window would be nice. The white sprigs of foliage on top are my favorite element – they somehow soften the whole look of the window design.
