Good Thursday morning. Welcome to the Impression Obsession design team challenge. Our challenge today is “I’m Thankful For”.
For my project I used the Garden Pots , Border Duo 1, Leafy Branch and Spiral Flowers
There are so many things that I am thankful for. All of the big stuff like a wonderful husband, family and a great work family as well. I am also really thankful for some of the smaller pleasures like my first cup off coffee in the morning, or getting whisker kisses from from one of my kitties. Today I am especially thankful that ten years ago my friend, Wendy Reid introduced me to paper crafting. Not only do I get great joy from the creative process of this craft but I have also been introduced to the most wonderful community of people and have made many lasting friendships.
My project today reflects my love of creating scenes with die cuts but also my first love of water coloring images.
I cut my my window using the label die set and attached thin strips to create the window panes. I used the die as a template to cut out the opening of my window and cut it out with my craft knife. I attached the window to the card opening with mounting tape. Check out my see thru window tutorial if you would like to see step by step photos of how I cut my window. I attached the blind to the inside of the card and then attached the designer paper in behind it to cover the opening and to appear like wall paper.
I stamped the garden pot image twice with versafine onyx black , one for the pots and one of the tray to cut out and pop up for dimension. I heat set the ink and water colored using distress reinkers and a brush. I cut the images out and popped the tray up in front of the pots with mounting tape.
I cut several pieces of the leafy branch 2 and cut them apart to use as the bushes for the roses. I arranged and attached them to the back of the pots with glossy accents. I cut and rolled the roses using my needle nose pliers and attached them to the bushes with glossy accents.
Why don’t you come along and play with us. To enter the challenge go to the Impression Obsession blog (all the details are there!). A random challenge card will be selected to showcase on the IO blog and you can to enter to win a $25 gift certificate to IO just by playing!

Good Morning, Kittie, your window designs are so inviting and warm to visitors like us. I feel like, they are part of your home. Your words of thankfulness were very heart warming. Flowers are the kiss from God, His paint brush, His beauty in creations, His touch of softness. Your thankfulness to us is your flowers with the love a creativity put into them. Appreciated more than words. Each day I am blessed with your creations. This is such a wonderful thing to think of Thankful and not just at Thanksgiving….Bless you and Bless IO for having the challenge…..hugs.
I have thought many times since you’ve gotten heavily into the die cut scenes on your cards how much I miss your beautiful stamping and watercoloring. It’s so good to see some today! Lovely card, as always!!
Apart from the usual wow factor of your die-cut creations, it’s the metal/rust effect on the garden pot that got my attention so effective !
