Good Saturday morning. I have a fast and easy clean and simple Belleek Inspired butterfly card to share with you. I love the new Lifestyle Crafts embossing folders that I have recently purchased. My project today was made using the new Lifestyle Crafts Butterfly Embossing Folder Set and paired with the Memory Box Vivienne Butterfly and framed using the Lifestyle Crafts Nesting Squares dies.
I brayered the blue ink on the inside of the folder, placed my cardstock in the folder carefully and ran through my Big Shot. I attached the embossed layer to the card base with mounting tape. I added another layer of dimension by attaching the thin frame with mounting tape.
I applied rolled glue dots to the back side of the butterfly, bent the wings back slightly and attached directly over top of the largest butterfly in the center row. I wanted most of the embossed butterflies to show but thought one popped up die cut butterfly would add interest.
I think the second folder in the set will also make a beautiful Belleek Inspired background. I can’t wait to try it soon. I especially love that Lifestyle Crafts has several 6 x 6 inch sets for making larger cards.
Thank you for coming by today and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Card size: 5.25 inch square

Beautiful card, Kittie! The butterfly embossing is WoW! The addition of the Vivienne butterfly is the perfect 3d element for this card. Thank you for sharing this beautiful card today. Now I want that embossing folder set, I like the other folder too.

I would say you have mastered this technique….absolutely perfect…love your card. BTW, when you color embossed backgrounds, do you ever use Copic inks with blender solution vs. water based inks with water?
Kittie, I am a huge fan of this technique as well and you do them so well. So many eb folders so little time. Each time I see one of yours it makes me realize that I have a folder like yours or similar ….one of which I didn’t think about.
Jan, I haven’t tried that technique. I did see that Sharon used it on the CLASSroom post yesterday. She made a beautiful calendar page. http://ellenhutson.typepad.com/the_classroom_new/2014/07/stenciled-copic-watercolor-by-sharon-harnist.html
I only have a couple Copic refills and need to get more before I can try it.
Simply beautiful and your work is sooooooo inspiring. TFS.
Simply stunning, I love this technique and you’ve totally mastered it like a pro. The soft colors are so soothing to the soul! Hugs!!!
