Winter Scene in July

Good Sunday morning.  It is really hot here in Florida so I thought I would cool things down a little and create a winter scene.  My project was made using the Impression Obsession Rabbit Set, Birch Trees, Pine Sprig Cluster and Leafy Branch

I cut the trees and rabbits and lightly sponged color on them using pumice stone and antique Linen ink and a mini applicator.  I cut snow layers and attached two of them to the back of the frame and one to the card base.  I do this to create levels of dimension and to draw the eye into the scene. I tucked the trees into the snowy layers attaching with rolled glue dots and attached two of the bunnies with mounting tape.

I created a foliage spray base with pieces of the leafy branch and attached with glossy accents. I attached the third rabbit to the center of the spray with mounting tape and tucked several pieces of pine around it to fill in.  I finished by adding a few more sprigs around in the snowy layers. I love making winter nature scenes.

  1. While its actually dipping down to the 50’s shortly here in Illinois and rain galore I still can enjoy your winter scene and love seeing all your creations no matter the season or reason. Love the teflon bone folder by the way and just received the Tonic guillotine cutter (love them both). Have a great day Kittie.

  2. This is gorgeous Kittie. Love the scene you created. I am in RI, it does not get to hot here during the Summer and when it does it is only during the day:).

  5. Absolutely adorable, Kittie! Love the framed trees and the bunnies in the snow and branches. Sooo cute! It’s noon and we’re at 81 in northern IL. Thank goodness the humidity is only 68% so it’s not miserable. Stay COOL! 🙂
