Peaceful Surf’s Edge

Good Sunday morning.  My beachy project today is quite a bit simpler than my Vintage Woody Beach Scene card yesterday. I wanted to use my new Single Beach Chair paired with the Beach Umbrella and the bucket from the Mini Beach Fun Set to create a peaceful scene with the chair sitting on the edge of the surf.

I used my Color Box stylus and foam tip to sponge in the water and sandy beach.  I used my ink blending tool and hand cut cloud template to sponge in the sky area. I sketched in the sea grass with a green distress marker.

I attached the feet of the chair right along the surf’s edge and attached with glossy accents.  I popped the chair and towel up with rolled glue dots. I spread out the liquid applique and smoothed it with my finger and even allowed some of it to get on the feet of the chair.  I heated it to create the sea foam. I applied a light coating of glossy accents to the foam and sprinkled with glitter to add sparkle.  Here’s a closer view of the sparkly foam.

I popped up the umbrella, flip flops and bucket with rolled glue dots.  I added the flying birds in the background for the finishing touch.  Wish I was there right now.

  6. First of all, your cards- ALL of them, incl. this one, are just stunning!! They are truly works of art!! I am a new subscriber to you and you usually make my jaw drop!
Second, I have a funny story. I read my emails when I first wake up (looks like I might need to modify my routine) and when I saw this title pop up, I thought it said ‘…Smurfs Edge’ and I thought ‘wow, SO very different from her usual style, but OK.’ LOL!! I know, that was dorky on my part but I had to share.
Keep up the amazing work and I’ll keep following! Have a glorious week!
