Impression Obsession “Last Minute Holiday Gifts” Challenge

Good Thursday morning and welcome to the Impression Obsession Design Team “Last Minute Holiday Gifts” challenge.  I don’t know about you but it seems I always need an extra gift or two on hand.  I love canning homemade apple butter and decorating the jars with old-fashioned gingham  with touches of pine and holly.  The Circle Greeting Cutout set  has the perfect generic sentiments for the tags on the extra gifts.  The Holly Flourish and Pine Pair are just the perfect size to embellish the tag.  I like to stamp the  Gingham Cover a Card image on regular printer paper to make it easier to apply to the top of the jar.

I started by stamping the gingham on printer paper, cutting out the square image with my paper trimmer and molding it to the top of the canning jar.  I probably could have trimmed the paper down a little more.  I like using square cover instead of round because I think it adds another interesting country old-fashioned feel to the decoration. I applied 1/8” double stick tape to a 12” piece of ribbon, attached it to the top of the covered canning jar and tied it tightly in place.  I had several red and white circles from the Circle Shaker Frames   in my stash so I used the white to cut the sentiment and attached the red one behind it with double stick tape. I punched a 1/8” circle hole in the top of the tag and used the red tie to tie it on the tag.

I cut one holly flourish and attached red punched 1/8” circles with glossy accents to several spots on the holly for berries.  I formed the pieces of pine and holly with my stylus and molding pad and  arranged and attached them on the tag with glossy accents. I attached a pretty red multi loop bow to the top of the tag with glue dots  for the finishing touch.  I think this makes such a pretty gift.

  1. P.S. Just went back to take a second look, OMGosh, I thought the gingham was a scrap piece of material, I can’t believe it’s paper……so realistic! I bet it would stamp beautifully on thin white muslim fabric. That’s one detailed background stamp……gorgeous!!!

  2. Kitty, this is truly two gifts in one. Who would think of beautifully decorating homemade apple butter but you. Truly wonderful. I, too, thought the gingham cover was scrap fabric. You’re amazing! Happy holidays to you and your family and as always thank you for sharing your creativity with us all year through!

  4. Homemade gifts are wonderful, adding a personally made tag is really special. The tag, gingham cover, holly and pine all look so authentic. I thought the gingham was fabric! You are such a giving and thoughtful person. TFS.
