Good Wednesday morning.  I have gone on a tag making binge again and thought I would share them with you today.  I have to confess that I loved pulling out all the tiny little dies  to make these tags. The matching tag sets make perfect gifts.

I have had the Gift Stack Cutout die below since last year and I think I only used it once.  I decided it would be really cute made into a tag.  I cut two of them, cut a piece of red cardstock to layer in between and then attached them together with double stick tape.  I had the red tag laying on my desk from another project and decided to die cut the sentiment in it with one of the three dies from the Circle Greeting Cutout set. I punched out a white circle to attach to the back of the tag, added a few sprigs of pine and bow to finish.

I have been intrigued by the Small Angel set and thought they would be perfect to use with the Christmas Tags set. I cut the three tags in red, attached a thin strip of green cardstock to both the top and bottom to create a bit of a frame and then attached the angels with mounting tape.

I love how they turned out. The largest of these three tags is 1.5” x 3.25”.

I used the same Christmas Tag set to make the tiny scene tags below.  I cut the tags in red and again in white, trimmed the sentiment off the white ones and then attached to the red with double stick tape.  I used the trees from the Tree Landscape Layers set, the little house is from the Town Builder Set, the tiny snowman is from the Christmas Icon set and the stars are from the Sun and Moon set.

I hand cut the little top hat and carrot nose for the snowman.  I think he is so cute.

The little ground snow sections were cut using my deckle scissors.  Have I ever told you how much I love my deckle scissors!!  I purchased mine way, way back when Stampin’ Up! used to sell them and I wouldn’t trade them for anything.  Their little jagged cutting edge adds just the right touch of interest to the snow border.

I painted the tree tops and windows with white gesso.

Thanks for coming by and indulging me with my crazy tag binge.  I hope you have been inspired to make some little tag scenes of your own.

  1. I love your tags and have to admit I’ve also been on a tag making binge. Thanks to you, I, too, use my deckle scissors a lot. I had forgotten about them until a while back you reminded me of them. Now they stay within reach on my counter.
I save leftover pieces of my DSP and solid cardstocks and find them to be very useful when making my tags….waste not, want not!!! LOL
    Love your creations…always.

  4. Hi Kitty! Gorgeous as always! I’m pinning this to my Tag Inspiration Board. I’m actually going to get around to making tags this year. I’m almost done with my cards for this year so by the start of Dec I can start making tags along with my gift card holders. Yippee!!
But I also have a question for you. Since you make so many intricate die cut pieces, have you found that these thin dies are extra hard on your cutting plates? Especially when you are just running a single small die thru, over & over? I was using some landscape dies (curvy line w/houses or trees) and if run thru one at a time, they really warp the cutting plates. I did mange to arrange 3 different dies for cutting 3 pieces at once and that helped. Do you have any tips on this? Or are we just stuck have to buy a gazillion cutting plates?…….lol

  5. Lisa, unfortunately I don’t have any good suggestions to protect your cutting plates. I do turn mine over as often as possible to try to get them to warp evenly LOL! With that said…I do so much die cutting that I keep at least two new pairs in the drawer at all times. I get a little shaky if I get too low on new ones. Yikes!
