Decorative Framed Roses

Good Sunday Afternoon.  My project today was made using the Impression Obsession Spiral Flowers Large and Leafy Branch along with the Spellbinders Radiant Rectangles.  I have a drawer full of Spellbinders die sets and somehow forget to use them.  I decided to that I would do a pretty layered card in all white with just the color of the roses and foliage.

I assembled the pieces of the card base and frame and attached with mounting tape.  The largest section of the die set is 6” x 4” so I cut a background card base when folded that is 4.75” x 2.75”.  I didn’t want the card base to show under the decorative cutouts.

The roses were rolled around my tweezers and closed and attached  with glossy accents.  I attached the three roses to the center layer of the frame and then pieces of foliage were tucked in under and around the roses and attached with glossy accents.

Here’s a closer view.  Aren’t the soft colors pretty against all that gorgeous white decorative paper!!

  1. Stunning!!! I have looked at this die set a number of times and wasn’t sure how it would look cut out. You’ve sold me. I like what you did with the card base…I think I understand what you did…sized it so it’s behind the more solid center front piece???
    Love this card!!!

  3. Oh, Kittie, you don’t know how many times I’ve thought about asking you why you never use Spellbinders dies when you seem to use a wide variety of dies from so many other companies. I guess Spellbinders were probably the first dies I ever bought (their classic shapes) and I’ve continued to have a Spellbinders addiction as their collection grew and began to include so many beautiful decorative dies and then they hooked me on their Die D-Lites, as well. 🙂 Of course, Sizzix Originals and Bigz came after those first Spellbinders and then the wafer thin dies started to flood onto the market from companies near and far. Impression Obsession and Memory Box/Poppy Stamps dies quickly became part of my addiction with some Tim Holtz and Susan Cockburn thinlits and Penny Black dies thrown in for good measure. LOL! I have a few things from a few other companies, but don’t allow myself to look very far past my real favorites since I can’t afford to buy all that I love anyway.
Your card is lovely. I always think your white on white is so elegant and that’s my favorite style of card. I keep wishing I felt comfortable making CAS cards because I work so slowly, but I always seem to create designs that have a lot of detail.

  5. I have had this dye for a very long time and I have played with it several times But there a issue with it that I can’t resolve…. how or where get an envelope for it? Mine turn out way too large for my A2 envelopes. Any ideas anyone? 1c1bailey@gmail.com. Can’t wait to get that dye out again.. want to do it just like you did… ever so gorgeous!!!!!! ?

  7. You need the We R Memory envelope punch board. You can make many, many different sizes of envelopes and the dimensions used actually allow just enough to accommodate thick cards. The punch board is regularly $19.99, but with a 40% or 50% off coupon, it’s very cheap. All the big box stores here in Jacksonville, FL carry them. I’m always a little dubious about buying new tools I haven’t had demonstrated, but this one I took a chance on since I got it so cheap and I use it every day. I have since gifted them to some of my crafting friends. Hope this helps.
