Impression Obsession Fall/Winter Release Blog Hop Day 3

Good Wednesday morning and welcome to day three of the Impression Obsession Fall/Winter Release Blog Hop!  We have some beautiful new stamps to share with you this week and there are going to be gift certificates given away. Check out the Impression Obsession Blog for all the details and be sure to leave comments on the team blog posts as you hop along.  Good luck!

I have another deer nature scene card to share with you today made using the new Woodland Deer paired with the Fir Trees, Cardinals, Fir Sprigs and framed using the All-in-One Frames Rectangles 2.

I stamped the deer images on watercolor paper using black versfine and heat set.  I used my water brush and Antique Linen and Vintage Photo reinkers to paint the images.  Hint:  I use the lids of my ink pads as a palette when I watercolor with reinkers.  That way there is no real waste of reinker because whatever is left in the lid will be there for the next time I need it.  I cut the two deer out so I could place them where I wanted in the scene of trees.  I applied Tumbled Glass ink to the sky area with my ink blending tool.

I hand cut snow layers with my deckle scissors and attached them to the back of the frame with ATG adhesive. I applied mounting tape to the back of the frame and attached to the card base. I attached the back trees to the card base with mounting tape.  I tucked the deer in between the snow layers and attached them with mounting tape.  I added a couple smaller trees in the front of the scene scene with mounting tape.  I decided that a few sprigs of fir would look natural peeking out from behind the snow.  I finished the scene by attaching the cardinals to add color and interest to the scene.  I think the deer images are so sweet.  It is a little hard to see but there is a sweet evergreen wreath around the neck of one of the deer.

  1. Thanks for the tip about putting the ink in the lid of the ink pad. In a perfect crafters world, I would own all the re-inkers for all my ink pads. But images and dies speak loudest to me right now. I love that you used watercolor paper for the deer. Great idea too! TFS your beautiful scene!
