Shore Birds

Good Sunday morning.  I have a simple beach scene to share with you today made using the Impression Obsession Shore Birds and Small Grass.  The frame was made using the My Favorite Things Pierced Rectangle Frames

I started by applying Vintage Photo ink to the bottom of the scene layer as well as a separate piece of cardstock using an ink blending too.  I applied a little bit of texture to the sand using a stamp from a retired Stampin’ Up! set called Itty Bitty Backgrounds. I used my deckle scissors to cut the front sand layer.  I masked off the sky area and applied Broken China ink to the water portion of the scene and then removed the mask and softly applied blue in the sky area.  I heat set the ink with my heat gun. I applied white embossing paste to water’s edge using my finger in a light tapping motion and before it dried I sprinkled clear glitter over the paste for a touch of sparkle.  I used a black Copic marker using a scribble motion to color the birds back and head.

I applied double stick tape to the bottom back of the frame and attached the front sand section. I applied thin strips of mounting tape all the way around the frame and attached it to the scene layer. I attached a blue layer behind the scene with ATG adhesive to break up some of the white. The whole frame scene was attached to the card base using ATG adhesive. I tucked the small grass sections in behind the frame and sand layer attaching with glossy accents.  The birds were attached in the scene with small pieces of mounting tape.

  2. So beautiful, I need to sit and make some Kittie cards. I use the SU Itty Bitty all the time and cringe when I see people selling it off, so versatile. As always thank you for sharing your talents.
