Good Saturday morning. I have a pretty die cut leaves and flower project to share with you today using the new Rubbernecker Stamps 5175-05D Flowers #5 (leaf) and paired with the Poinsettia #1 and Nested Oval Scallop w/Pierce. I really love the new leaf die and wanted to use it with a larger flower. I thought the poinsettia die took on a non Christmas appearance using the purple cardstock and it’s the perfect size to match the leaves. Have you checked out the year end sale going on over at Rubbernecker? All the dies I’ve used today are 20% off. I love a good sale…..don’t you!
The Flower and Leaves
- Cut the poinsettia layers using purple cardstock.
- Turn the flower sections face down on the molding pad and form the leaves using the largest round stylus.
- Turn the flower sections face up on the molding pad and push down in the center of each using the small tipped stylus.
- Apply glossy accents to the center of each flower section and attach them together to form the fully assembled flower.
- Cut the leaves using green cardstock.
- Use the leaf tool and leaf pad to apply vein lines to the leaves.
Assemble the Card
- Cut the purple background layer and run it through the crimper to create the corrugated pattern.
- Apply strips of double stick tape to the back of the purple layer and attach to the white card base.
- Cut the scalloped layer using white cardstock and attach it to the card base using strips of mounting tape
- Gently roll and form the leaves with your fingers to add dimension.
- Apply small pieces of mounting tape to the back of the leaves and glossy accents to the center stem portion and attach it to the white scalloped layer.
- Apply glossy accents to the back of the flower and attach it to the leaf stem and white scalloped layer.
- Finish by attaching a white snow pearl to the center of the flower using a touch of glossy accents.
I hope you enjoyed my clean and simple die cut leaves and flower project. Let me know what your thoughts are regarding my use of a poinsettia for a non Christmas project. Thanks for coming by and I hope you have a great weekend.
