Check out all the details on this
motorcycle card, handmade
using fabulously detailed dies!
If you have friends who are fans of riding on the open road on one of these machines, this motorcycle card handmade by you, custom designed to their own bike, will just blow them away! I had lots of fun making this fast and easy masculine card using Rubbernecker’s newly released Motorcycle paired with Dad Phrases and red cardstock from the Ho Ho Ho 6×6 Paper Pad. I can’t get over all the fabulous details! Keep reading to see how I put this together and to “start the wheels turning” as to how you might want to create this project.
Card Base and Sentiment
Cut an A2 sized card base using white cardstock and a 5.50″ x 4.25″ piece of solid red cardstock from the Ho Ho Ho 6×6 Paper Pad. Note: I love that the red cardstock from the paper pad is so shiny and perfect for the background and Motor Cycle parts. Rubbernecker uses #80 cardstock to make their paper pads and it is perfect for for die cutting as well as layering.
Run the red layer through the straight crimper and attach it to the card base using double stick tape.
Use white cardstock to cut a 2.00″ white strip, secure it and the Dad Phrases sentiment in the MISTI and stamp using Nocturne ink.
Cut a black 2.25″ strip to layer the white strip and attach them together using double stick tape.
Apply strips of mounting tape to the back of the sentiment strip and attach it to the card base.
The Die Cut Motorcycle
Cut the Motorcycle parts using red, dark and light gray and black cardstock.
Begin by assembling the tire parts and attaching them together using Connect glue.
Attach the motorcycle base and red bolts to the tires using connect glue.
Use rolled up double stick tape to attach the the muffler, fenders, gas tank , motor parts and seat to the bike base and tires.
Use pieces of mounting tape to attach the motorcycle to the sentiment strip.
The new Motorcycle is perfect to create masculine cards for all the men and boys in your life and even for those female friends of yours who are fans of these two wheeled toys. Here’s what I used today to make this project:
Seriously imagine someone opening this motorcycle card handmade by you with their bike represented on the front. Their jaws will drop and they will instantly appreciate your thinking of them in such a unique way!
