If you have followed me for any length of time you will remember how much I love making cards with die cut houses.  I fell in love with these new sets by Brass and Bliss and the endless possibilities for how to use them.  For today’s card I used the Nested Rectangle Scallop, Town Scape, Spring Town Accessories, Classic Tabbed Grass, Rainbow and Clouds and Small Birds.

make cards with die cut houses for any occasion or season.

Card Base

  • Use white cardstock to cut an A2 sized card base and blue cardstock to cut a 5.50″ x 4.25″ layer.
  • Cut a white layer using the Nested Rectangle Scallop die, secure the borders with masking tape and apply Beachside ink using a large blending brush.
  • Apply mounting tape to the back of the scene base and attach it to the card base.
  • Use green cardstock to cut a Grass section, apply a strip of mounting tape and attach it to the scene base.
  • Cut the trees from the Spring Town Accessories using green and brown cardstock, attach the trunk and tree tops together using glossy accents and set them aside.

Assemble the Houses

  • Use several different colors of cardstock to cut the Town Scape houses and roof sections.
  • Assemble the house sections and attach them together using connect glue and rolled up double stick tape.

  • Apply pieces of mounting tape to the back of the structures, tuck them in behind the grass and attach them to the scene base.
  • Adhere pieces of mounting tape to the back of the trees, tuck them in behind and in front of the houses and attach them to the scene.

Embellishments

  • Use blue cardstock to cut the Small Birds and Woody sections.
  • Apply small strips of rolled up double stick tape to the car fenders and attach them to the car base.
  • Adhere a small piece of mounting tape to the back of the car and attach to the grass layer.
  • Apply tiny pieces of mounting tape to the back of the birds and attach them to the scene.
  • Finish the scene by attaching a small sun from the Rainbow and Clouds set and attach to the card base.
  • cards with die cut houses are so fun when the home is part of the celebration.
