Pumpkins and Sunflowers Card

My project today is a pumpkins and sunflowers card made for Dare To Get Dirty Day 1 of the Splitcoaststampers Dare To Get Dirty week long challenge event. This event is a special thank you to all of the fan club members who support the site all year long. Have you had a desire to be on the Dirty Dozen design team? This special week of challenges will give you tons of opportunity to be inspired and to show off your wonderful and creative projects right along with the current Dirty Dozen team as well as the alumni team members.  Are you a member of the Splitcoaststampers Fan Club? If not go here to check out all the benefits of being a member. If you are a member hop right on over the special challenge forum here.

Come see how I made this pumpkins and sunflowers card.

For this card I used the Rubbernecker Stamps Pumpkins and Ivy, Baskets, Mixable Flower Stack, Grass and the sentiment is from the Splatter Leaves set.

The Sentiment Layer and Grass

  • Cut the rectangle X stitched layer using white cardstock and the background layer using orange cardstock.
  • Insert the rectangle layer and sentiment stamp in the MISTI, apply Shady Lane ink to the stamp and then stamp the sentiment.
  • Attach the white layer to the orange layer using strips of mounting tape.
  • Attach the orange and white layer to the card base using ATG adhesive.
  • Use green cardstock and cut a partial rectangle X stitched layer and then  use that piece to cut the grass layer.
  • Apply thin strips of mounting tape to the back of the grass and attach it to the white sentiment layer.

Come see how I made this fall pumpkins and sunflowers card.

The Basket, Pumpkins and Sunflowers

  • Use woodgrain cardstock to cut the basket and apply Antique Linen ink using the direct pad to paper technique.
  • Attach the cross section to the basket using glossy accents.
  • Cut the pumpkins, gourds and sunflowers using yellow cardstock and the ivy using green cardstock.
  • Color the gourds using Spiced Marmalade and Peeled Paint ink and attach them to the back of the basket using double stick tape and glossy accents..
  • Apply Spiced Marmalade and Rusty Hinge ink to the yellow pumpkins using mini applicators.
  • Color the stems of the pumpkins with a brown marker.
  • Use a mini applicator and Wild Honey ink to color the the sunflower petals and then form the flowers using a stylus and molding pad.
  • Attach the flower sections together using glossy accents.
  • Punch out multiple 1/8″ brown circles, form them with a small tipped stylus and molding pad and attach them to the flower centers using glossy accents.

Note:  I really love to apply color to die cut images using Distress Inks and mini applicators.  Starting with yellow cardstock for the pumpkins and flowers allows me to add color and shading but still allows the yellow to shine through as a highlight.

Assemble the Pumpkins and Sunflowers Scene

  • Apply a double layer of mounting tape to the back of the basket, round the basket slightly with your fingers and tuck it behind the grass and attach it to the card base.
  • Tuck the pumpkins in behind the grass and attach to the scene using pieces of mounting tape.
  • Attach the ivy leaves and tendrils to the card base using glossy accent.
  • Apply glossy accents to the back of the sunflowers and attach them to the ivy and tendrils on the card base.
  • Tuck several more pieces of tendrils in and around the pumpkins and attach using glossy accents.

Come see how I made this autumn pumpkins and sunflowers card.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my pumpkins and sunflowers card. I love the basket and pumpkin die and will be using them lots more on my fall projects.  If you are unfamiliar with the Splitcoaststampers Dare to Get Dirty fan club, I hope you will hop over and check it out.  I attribute everything I know about paper crafting to this wonderful online community.  Thank you for coming by today and I hope you have a great Saturday.

Pumpkin Wagon Card

Good Thursday morning.  Today I’m sharing a fall pumpkin wagon card made using the new Rubbernecker Stamps Pumpkins and Ivy set paired with the Wagon, Grass, Birds and framed using the Rectangle Combo #3.  I love the colorful pumpkins piled in the red wagon and how all the colors pop against the white card base. I’ve had lots of fun creating fall pumpkins projects with this new set and you can see more of them here

Come see how I made this pumpkin wagon scene card.

The Pumpkins and Wagon

  • Cut three sets of the Pumpkins and Ivy using yellow and green cardstock.
  • Apply Wild Honey and Spiced Marmalade ink to the pumpkins using mini applicators and color the stems with a brown marker.
  • Cut the wagon using red and black cardstock and apply Vintage Photo ink to the wagon to distress.
  • Assemble the wagon wheels and attach them to the wagon using glossy accents.
  • Apply mounting tape to the back of the wagon and attach the first level of pumpkins.
  • Continue adding pumpkins and attaching them to the back of the first layer using glossy accents.

Come see how I made this colorful pumpkin wagon scene card.

The Frame and Grass

  • Cut the frame using white cardstock and attach the two largest layers together on the back using double stick tape.
  • Cut the grass sections and attach them to the back of the frame using double stick tape.
  • Apply strips of mounting tape all the way around the back of the frame and attach it to the card base.
  • Tuck the wagon full of pumpkins in behind the grass layer and attach to the card base using a large piece of mounting tape.
  • Tuck the extra pumpkins in between the grass sections and attach using strips of mounting tape.
  • Add the foliage and attach in between the grass and pumpkins using glossy accents.
  • Finish by cutting several birds using blue cardstock and attach to the scene using small pieces of mounting tape.

Come see how I made this pretty pumpkin wagon scene card.

This pumpkin wagon card was fun to make and would be a perfect for any special occasion happening in the fall.  Here is a Pinterest fall pumpkin card link if you would like more inspiration for your fall cards. Thanks for coming by and I hope you have a good day.

CAS Pumpkins and Leaves Card

Today I’m sharing a CAS pumpkins and leaves card using the Rubbernecker Stamps Pumpkins and Ivy, Tiny Leaves, Splatter Leaves and Nested Rectangle X Stitch.  It isn’t always easy to come up with a main focal point of interest that can stand alone on an all white background.  I think the pumpkins, scattered leaves and sentiment tell a little story and capture the feeling of autumn.  The X design around the borders of the white layers add interest and texture without distracting from the main images.

Come see how I made this CAS pumpkins and leaves card.

The Card Layers

  • Cut the rectangle layers using white cardstock and the Nested Rectangle X Stitch dies.
  • Stamp the sentiment using Versafine Clair Pinecone ink.
  • Cut an orange layer to use behind the main white layer.
  • Apply ATG adhesive to the back of the large white layer and attach to the card base.
  • Apply ATG adhesive to the back of the small white layer and attach to the orange layer.
  • Use mounting tape to attach the small white and orange layer to the card base.

Come see how I made this colorful CAS pumpkins and leaves card.

The Pumpkins and Leaves

  • Cut the pumpkins and tiny leaves using white cardstock and the foliage using green cardstock.
  • Use mini applicators to apply Shabby Shutters and Spiced Marmalade ink to the pumpkins.
  • Apply Spiced Marmalade, Shabby Shutters and Fired Brick ink to the tiny leaves.
  • Blend the three colors of ink together on each leaf by applying Wild Honey ink using a mini applicator.
  • Round each pumpkin with your fingers, apply a piece of mounting tape to the back of the pumpkins and attach to the card base.
  • Tuck the foliage sprigs in behind the pumpkins and attach with glossy accents.
  • Gently form the leaves with your fingers, apply glossy accents to the back and attach them to the card base and pumpkins.

Come see how I made thispretty CAS pumpkins and leaves card.

Fall Pop Up Box Card Ideas

Today I’m sharing fall pop up box card ideas using several of the newly released dies by Rubbernecker Stamps.  Yesterday I posted a Z Fold cornfield card with an old flatbed truck, crows and cats.  My project today has a field of corn with the main focal image being on the fun scarecrow in the background.  I filled all three flaps of the box with a fence, pumpkins, corn and squirrels to carry on the fall theme.  I love the crows that come with the scarecrow set and I had to add a few more to the flaps.  Any of the fall components of this card could be used as main focal images for fall cards.

For this project I used the Scarecrow, Corn Stalks, Picket Fence, Pumpkins and Ivy, Apples, Pears and Corn, Wagon, Baskets, Birds, Chickens and Squirrels, Grass, and Small Ivy.  I used The Paper Cut Square Pop Up Box Kit for my card base.

Come see my fall pop up box card ideas.

The Box Base and Layers

  • Use the bone folder to reinforce all the score lines .
  • Cut the designer paper layering pieces.
  • Apply ATG adhesive to the back of all the layering pieces and attach to the inside and outside sections and flaps.
  • Apply double stick tape to the side insert flap, line the box sides up and attach the two ends together to form the box.
  • Cut grass and fence sections to fit the three flaps and attach with double stick tape.
  • Cut grass insert sections to fit the insert fronts and attach using double stick tape.  Score both ends at 1/2″ in.
  • Cut several sections of cornstalks and attach to the back of the insert layers using glossy accents.
  • Apply double stick tape to each tab and insert the tabs to the inside of the box.
  • The designer paper layer sizes:
    •  2   5 5/8″ x 3 5/8″ layers
    •  2   3 5/8″ x 2 3/4″ layers
    •  4   1 7/8″ x 2 3/4″ layers

Come see my fun fall pop up box card ideas.

The Scarecrow, Wagon and Veggies

  • Cut the scarecrow sections and assemble using glossy accents and mounting tape.
  • Attach the scarecrow to the back of the card using a triple layer of mounting tape.
  • Use gray cardstock to cut the wheelbarrow, apply Rusty Hinge and Vintage Photo ink using mini applicators and attach to the front flap using mounting tape..
  • Cut the pumpkins and squash using yellow cardstock and apply Spiced Marmalade and Crushed Olive ink using mini applicators.
  • Use woodgrain paper to cut the basket, apply Antique Linen ink with a mini applicator and assemble using glossy accents.
  • Cut corn and husks using yellow and green cardstock, assemble the pieces using glossy accents and attach corn using glossy accents.
  • Tuck the corn basket and squash in the wagon and attach to the flap base using mounting tape.
  • Tuck the pumpkins in behind the grass and attach to the flap bases using mounting tape.

Come see my dimensional fall pop up box card ideas.

Come see my easy fall pop up box card ideas.

The Squirrels, Crows and Ivy

  • Cut the squirrels using white cardstock and apply color using Pumice Stone and Antique Linen ink and mini applicators.
  • Attach the squirrels to the flaps using pieces of mounting tape.
  • Use black cardstock to cut the crows and attach them to the flaps using small pieces of mounting tape.
  • Cut several pieces of small ivy and tuck them in behind the pumpkins and attach using glossy accents.

Come see my colorful fall pop up box card ideas.
