Die Cut Paper Flower Pots and Wreath

Rubbernecker Stamps October Sale

Good Thursday morning.  I have a couple die cut paper flower pots and wreath cards to share with you today using several newly released dies from Rubbernecker Stamps.  The first card is showing off the new Rectangle Square Window Stitch and filling it with flower pots and a hanging basket.  The hanging basket is from the new Lamp Post with Accessories set.  I used the Tall Terracotta Pots and Wide Terracotta Pots and filled them with Small IvyFlower Buds and Tiny Flower Buds and embellished with Small Butterflies.

Come see how I made this die cut paper flower pots and wreath card.

The Window Frame and Grass

  • Cut the window frame using aqua cardstock.
  • Cut grass sections using green cardstock.
  • Apply double stick tape to the lower and middle windows and attach grass sections.
  • Apply thin strips of mounting tape to the back of the window frame and attach to the card base.

The Flower Pots and Basket

  • Cut the flower pots using yellow cardstock.
  • Apply Wild Honey ink to cover the flower pots.
  • Apply Rusty Hinge and Vintage Photo ink to shade and create the appearance of terracotta.
  • Cut several sections of the small ivy.
  • Cut the flowers using yellow and aqua cardstock.
  • Apply Wild Honey ink to the yellow flowers using a mini applicator.
  • Form the flowers using a small tipped stylus and molding pad.
  • Attach the ivy sections to the back of the pots and basket using glossy accents.
  • Attach the flowers to the ivy using glossy accents to fill in the arrangements.
  • Attach the flower pots and basket to the scene using pieces of mounting tape.
  • Attach butterflies in the scene using glossy accents.
  • Finish by attaching pre made yellow Nuvo Crystal Drops to the butterflies using glossy accents..

Come see how I made this cheerful die cut paper flower pots and wreath card.

I love this clean and simple card base made using the new Borders #1 die.  The wreath was made using Small Ivy and Flower Buds.  The wreath base was cut using small dies from the Nested Circle set.

Come see how I made this elegant die cut paper flower pots and wreath card.

The Decorative Base

  • Cut the decorative layer using white card stock. Hint:  I use waxed paper between the die and cardstock to keep the layer clean.
  • Apply strips of mounting tape to the back of the white layer and attach it to the purple card base.

The Wreath

  • Cut a small green circle base for the wreath using two smaller dies from the circle die set.
  • Cut several sets of the small ivy using green cardstock.
  • Attach the ivy to fill in all the way around the base using glossy accents.
  • Cut a couple sets of flower buds using purple cardstock.
  • Form the flower buds using a small tipped stylus and molding pad.
  • Attach the flowers all the way around the ivy base using glossy accents.
  • Attach the wreath to the white card base using glossy accents.
  • Finish by attaching a white multi loop bow using glue dots.  You can see my multi loop bow tying tutorial here.

Come see how I made this lovely die cut paper flower pots and wreath card.

I have a pretty window card with flower pots to share with you today using dies made by Rubbernecker Stamps.  Before I start my post let me draw your attention to the Rubbernecker 10% off sale.  This is a great opportunity to check off  items on your Rubbernecker wish list.  See the banner below for the coupon code to use at check out.

RN Sale

This card was made using the Rubbernecker 5148-02D Window Pierce Die5148-02D Window Pierce Die, 5141D Nested Rectangle Scallop w/ Holes, 5128D Tree Panel, 5118D Leaf Group, 5147-16D Tall Terracotta Pots, 5147-09D Flower Buds Die, 5147-10D Tiny Flower Buds, 5147-05D Flower Stems, 5147-08D Small Butterflies and 5152-03D Grass Set.

Come see how I made this window card with flower pots that would be perfect for any occasion.

The Window Frame, Grass and Branches

I applied double tick tape to the back of the window frame and attached the small branch from the tree panel and grass sections.  I cut thin strips of mounting tape and attached to the back of the window frame and attached it to the scalloped layer. The scalloped layer and window frame was attached to the white card base using pieces of mounting tape.

Coloring the Pots

The flower pots were cut out using yellow cardstock.  When applying the color to the pots the yellow shows through to help create the appearance of terracotta.  I used mini applicators to apply the inks and started by applying a fine layer of Wild Honey ink over the whole pot and then applied Rusty Hinge and Vintage Photo to add depth of color to create the old aged looking pots.

Come see how I made this window card with flower pots that would be perfect for a garden lover.

The Flowers and Foliage

I cut a Leaf Group section and cut the pieces apart to create the foliage base for the largest pot and attached the pieces to the back of the pot using glossy accents.  I cut several pieces of the flower stems to create the foliage base for the smaller pots and attached them to the back of the pots using glossy accents.

Forming the Flowers

I cut both sizes of flowers and used my stylus and molding pad to form them.  I used the larger flowers for the large pot of foliage and attached them with glossy accents.  I used the tiny flowers for the smaller pots and tree branches and attached them with glossy accents.

Come see how I made this window card with flower pots that would be perfect for a flower lover.

Completing the Window Card with Flower Pots

The pots were gently rounded using my fingers and were attached to the card base using pieces of mounting tape.  Tiny butterflies were attached using glossy accents to complete the scene.

Do you love making flower themed cards?  I sure do!!  I hope you have been inspired by my window card with flower pots to get your toys out and create a pretty card of your own.

Die Cut Flower Pots and Butterflies

I have a pretty spring colored die cut flower pots and butterflies card to share with you today using garden and frame dies by Rubbernecker Stamps.  For this project I used the 5132 Rectangle Combo #2 OPC Die, 5147-18D Tulip Tops Die, 5147-16D Tall Terracotta Pot Die, 5147-05D Flower Stems Die, 5147-09D Flower Buds Die, 5147-08D Small Butterflies Die, 5152-03D Grass Set and 5118D Leaf Group Die.

Come see how to make this spring die cut flower pots and butterflies project.

The Pots

I cut the pots using Alpaca cardstock and colored and shaded them using mini applicators and Wild Honey, Rusty Hinge and Vintage Photo ink.  I started by applying a light coat of Wild Honey and then added darker tones around the edges and and top of the pots using Rusty Hinge and Vintage Photo.  I made sure I left the centers of the pots a lighter color to create more realistic pots.

The Flowers

I several sets of flower stems using Easter Grass cardstock and the flowers using Cotton Candy, Sour Lemon and Sour Grape cardstock.  I formed the Sour Grape flower using my small tipped stylus and molding pads and attached them to the flower stems using glossy accents.  I gently rounded the tulip heads using the larger stylus and molding pad and attached them to the flower stems using glossy accents.

Arranging the Flower Pots

I created the two smaller pots of flower by attaching the stems to the back of the pots using glossy accents.  I started by attaching the front flower stems first and worked my way back adding taller stems.  Next I cut a couple sections of the Leaf Group die, cut them apart and created a larger foliage arrangement in the tallest pot. I began with the shortest foliage branches and worked by way back adding taller branches until I was satisfied with the size to stand behind the two front pots.  I attached purple flowers to the branches using glossy accents until it was full of blooms.

Come see how I made this spring die cut flower pots and butterflies project.

The Frame and Grass

I cut the frames die and attached the two largest sections together using double stick tape. I cut one grass section and attached it to the back of the frame using double stick tape.  I cut thin strips of mounting tape, attached them to the back of the frame and attached it to the pink card base.

The Die Cut Flower Pots and Butterflies

I tucked the tallest post in behind the brass and attached it to the card base using mounting tape.  Next I applied mounting tape to the back of the two smaller pots and tucked them in behind the grass and attached them to the card base and taller flower pot.  I added several small butterflies to the scene for the finishing touch.

Come see how to make this spring die cut flower pots and butterflies project perfect for so many occasions.

I appreciate you coming by today and I hope my spring flower scene using die cut flower pots and butterflies has inspired you to get out your favorite dies to make a scene of your own.

White Card with Colorful Flowers

I love making a white card with colorful flowers.  The stark white card base is the perfect background to highlight the bright colors.  For this card I used the Rubbernecker Inside Scallop Nested Set, Arch Trellis, Tall Terracotta Pots, Wide Terracotta Pots, Watering Can, Leaf Group, Flower Stems, Flower Buds and Small Flowers #1.

Click on the picture to come see how I create a beautiful white card with colorful flowers using dies made by Rubbernecker.

The White Card Base

  • Cut an A2 sized card base, a scalloped layer and an Arch Trellis using white cardstock.
  • Use the trellis as a template to draw cutting lines on the scalloped layer.
  • Use a craft knife to cut out the window opening on the scalloped layer.
  • Apply pieces of mounting tape all the way around the back of the trellis and attach it over the window opening on the scalloped layer.
  • Apply strips of mounting tape to the back of the scalloped/window layer and attach it to the white card base.

The Terracotta Pots and Watering Can

  • Cut the terracotta pots using yellow cardstock and the watering can using grey cardstock.
  • Color the pots using a mini applicator and Mango and Pumpkin ink from the Color Fuse #2 set.
  • Apply rust to the watering can using a mini applicator and Pumpkin ink.

Click on the photo to come see how I create a beautiful white card with colorful flowers using dies made by Rubbernecker.

The Colorful Flower Pots

  • Cut the small flowers using aqua and purple cardstock and foliage sections using green cardstock.
  • Place the small flowers face up on the molding pad and form them using the small tipped stylus.
  • Arrange and attach the foliage sections to the back of the pots using glossy accents.
  • Attach the pots and watering can to the card base using pieces of mounting tape.
  • Note:  The flower pots turned out to be a little larger than I needed for the window so I had to float the watering can down a little.  My husband said all the images look like they are floating in air and I guess they do!  LOL!

A white card with colorful flowers is fun to make.

Handmade Die Cut Garden Scene and Sales

Good Monday morning.  I have a handmade die cut garden scene to share with you today using dies by Rubbernecker Stamps. There are lots of parts and pieces to this scene but I sure had fun creating it. I used the 5132D Rectangle Combo #2, 5147-01D Wheelbarrow, 5126 Tree Panel #1, 5147-09D Flower Buds, 5147-06D Small Birds, 5147-10D Tiny Flower Buds, 5147-16D Tall Terracotta Pots, 5147-17D Wide Terracotta Pots, 5118D Leaf Group, 5147-05D Flower Stems, 5147-11D Bird House and 5152-03D Grass Set.  If you love the dies I’ve used today you can get them all at Rubbernecker during their 15% off July 4th holiday sale.

Come check out my handmade die cut garden scene card perfect for a gardener and flower lover.

The Frame, Tree and Grass

I started by cutting the frame in white and the grass and tree panel in green.  I colored the trunk and branches of the tree using a brown Copic marker and then attached it along with the grass to the back of the frame using double stick tape.  Next, I applied pieces of mounting tape to the back of the frame and attached it to the blue card base.

Coloring the Pots and Wheelbarrow

I cut the wheelbarrow using gray cardstock and the pots using yellow cardstock. I used mini applicators and Distress Inks to color the images.  I wanted the wheelbarrow to look like rusted gray metal so I used Rusty Hinge and Vintage Photo ink to color and shade but still allowing some of the gray to show through.  I colored the handles and wheel using a black Copic marker.

I cut the pots using yellow cardstock.  I wanted them to look like old terracotta pots that had been used over and over for years.  I covered the whole pot with Wild Honey ink and then shaded over the edges with Rusty Hinge and Vintage Photo. The yellow cardstock shines through all the ink shading and helps create the appearance of old pots.

Come check out my handmade die cut garden scene card perfect for a flower lover.

The Flowers and Stems

I cut the flowers using red and white cardstock and formed them with my stylus and molding pad.  I cut several sets of flower stems and a couple sets of leaf group and attached them to the back of the pots using glossy accents.  I finished by attaching flowers to the foliage using glossy accents.

Assembling the Handmade Die Cut Garden Scene

I stacked and attached a few together using glue dots and attached them to the back of the wheelbarrow using glue dots. I tucked the wheelbarrow and pots of flowers in behind the grass and attached them in place using mounting tape.  Since the bottom of the scene was so heavy with the wheelbarrow and flower pots I decided to draw the eye up and attached a small birdhouse in the tree branches.  I added a few birds to the scene for the finishing touch.

Come check out my handmade die cut garden scene card perfect for a gardener.

I’ve made several cards similar to this but I never seem to tire of them.  I hope you are inspired to get your dies out and create a handmade die cut garden scene of your own.
