If not go here to check out all the benefits of being a member. If you are a member hop right on over the special challenge forum here.

Come see how I made this beautiful paper flowers card with embossed background.

Belleek Inspired Background and Frame

Years ago I was introduced to the Belleek Inspired Technique in one of the Technique Lovers Challenges on Splitcoaststampers.  This technique was based on the beautiful Belleek Traditional Irish Gifts and Home Decor.  I prepared an decorative embossing folder by applying in with a brayer to the top inside of the folder.  Next, I inserted the white cardstock in the folder and ran it through my Big Shot.  I attached the embossed layer to the card base using thin strips of mounting tape.  You can see step by step pictures of the Belleek Inspired Technique tutorial.

I cut the frames using Rubbernecker Rectangle Combo #2 die and attached the three sections together on the back using double stick tape.  Next, I applied thin strips of mounting tape around the back of the frame and attached it to the embossed layer.

Come see how I made this elegant paper flowers card with embossed background.

The Flowers and Foliage

I cut several sets of the Mixable Flower Stack die using white cardstock.  Next I placed Spun Sugar reinker in the lid of my ink pad to use as a palette.  I I used a Color Wash technique to color the flowers.  I applied a mixture of water and reinker in my watercolor brush and painted the flowers.  Next, I dipped the brush into a stronger section of reinker and touched the brush into the center of the flower and allowed it to run out on the wet petals.  I heat dried each flower section with my heat gun. I used this method so the flowers would perfectly match the pink on the embossed background.  You can see step by step photos of this technique in my Color Wash Flowers tutorial

I formed each flower section using my stylus and molding pad.  I laid the sections face down on the pad, formed the leaves using a rolling movement with the large stylus on each petal.  I turned the flower sections face up and pushed down on the center using a smaller tipped stylus.  I attached all the different sized flower sections together using glossy accents to form the completed flowers.

I cut several sections of the Leaf Group and Small Leaf Group to use as the base for my flowers.  Next, I gently formed the larger leaves with my fingers to add a more natural appearance.

Come see how I made this elegant paper flowers card with embossed background.

Assembling the Paper Flowers Card with Embossed Background

I started creating a foliage base for the flowers by attaching some of the larger sections of leaves to the frame corner using glossy accents.  Next I attached the flowers using glossy accents.  I cut smaller sections of foliage and tucked under and around the flowers to fill in and attached with glossy accents.  I finished by forming two of the round circles from the flower die, formed them lightly with a stylus and attached to the flower centers with a small piece of mounting tape.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my paper flowers card with embossed background.  Please check out the Splitcoaststampers Dare To Get Dirty event if you would like to see lots of wonderful projects.

Die Cut Bird, Branches and Flowers

Good Thursday morning.  My die cut bird, branches and flowers project today was made for the Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge. You can see the sketch below.  Needless to say I miscalculated on the size of my decorative frame and went outside the lines of the layout but I love how it turned out anyway.  I used the Impression Obsession Square Frame for the square layer, filled the inner frame with Songbird Branch and Branches Corner and created the floral arrangement using Bunch of Blossoms and Foliage.

Come check out how I made this elegant die cut bird, branches and flowers card using Impression Obsession dies.

aa

The Birds and Branches

I began by cutting the Songbird Branch in green and then cut just the bird section again in white.  I colored the white birds using two light blue shades of Copic markers and then added a little bit of darker blue shading using a mini applicator and Broken China ink.  I cut the colored birds off the piece of branch and attached them over the birds on the green branch using glossy accents.  I cut the small branches off the Branches Corner and used them to fill in around the birds and attached with glossy accents.

The Frame

I cut the frame and attached small pieces of double stick tape on two of the corners on the back of the frame.  I attached the bird branch to the frame, applied thin strips of mounting tape to the back of the frame and small pieces to the back of the birds and attached the whole thing to the card base.

Come check out how I made this lovely die cut bird, branches and flowers card using Impression Obsession dies.

The Flowers and Foliage

I cut the flowers using white cardstock and colored them with the light blue Copic markers and lightly touched the centers with a mini applicator and Broken China ink.  I wanted the flowers to match the birds but not be as deep blue.  I cut apart the foliage sections and attached them to the corner of the frame using glossy accents.  I formed the flowers using my stylus and molding pad and then attached them to the foliage using glossy accents.  I finished by attaching pre made white Nuvo Crystal Drops to the flowers using glossy accents.

Come check out how I made this pretty die cut bird, branches and flowers card using Impression Obsession dies.

Old Truck With Flowers Scene

Good Monday morning.  I have a rusty old truck with flowers scene card to share with you today.   I’ve loved this Old Truck by Rubbernecker and have made lots of scene cards with it over the years.  I thought it would be fun to create a summery floral scene and pair it with the Tree Panel, Tiny Flower Buds, Flower Stems, Grass and Small Birds.  The frame was made using the Rectangle Stitched OPC die.

Come see how I made this rusty old truck with flowers scene.

The Truck

I secured icy Mint cardstock and the truck stamp in my MISTI, applied black versafine ink and stamped the image twice.  I applied clear embossing powder and heated to set the ink.  I used a mini applicator to apply touches of Rusty Hinge ink to areas on the truck to create an old appearance.  I used a craft knife to cut out the windows and then cut out the trucks.  I cut the main portion of the truck away from the tires and attached it using rolled up glue dots over the wheel sections from the second truck that I stamped.

The Truck Bed Flowers

I cut several flower stems and a red and white tiny flower buds.  I formed all the flowers using the smallest stylus tip and molding and then attached several flowers to each of the stems using glossy accents.  I cut a slit in the truck bed using my craft knife and tucked several of the flower filled stems in between the truck bed slit and attached them using glossy accents.

Come see how I made this banged up old truck with flowers scene.

The Frame, Tree and Grass

I cut the frames and attached them together on the back using double stick tape.  I cut the tree panel, cut it apart and colored the branches using a brown Copic marker.  I attached one section of the tree panel to the top back of the frame along with a grass section on the bottom of the frame.  I attached mounting tape to the back of the frame and attached it to the blue sky layer.

Come see how I made this pretty old truck with flowers scene.

Completing the Old Truck with Flowers Scene

I tucked the truck in behind the grass and attached with mounting tape.  I cut the remaining portion of the tree panel branches apart and attached them in behind the grass with glossy accents.  I added flowers to the branches to fill in the scene.  The birds were added for the finishing touch.

I hope you have been inspired to get out your stamps and dies to create your won old truck with flowers scene project.  I always have so much fun creating fun scenes like this.

Die Cut Hydrangea Thank You Card

Good Sunday morning.  I have a pretty die cut hydrangea thank you card to share with you today.  My flower was hand made using Rubbernecker Flower Buds and three layered circles.  I used the Leaf set for the leaves and I hand cut the stem using my deckle scissors. The sentiment is from the Best Friends set.  Do you love hydrangea flowers but don’t have a hydrangea die set.  You can check out my Hydrangea Tutorial to see how I use punched or die cut tiny flowers to make my flowers.

Come see how I made my pretty die cut hydrangea thank you card.

Making the Hydrangea

I started creating the base for my hydrangea by cutting out a 1 1/4″, 3/4″and 1/2″ circles.  I attached the three circles to each other using pieces of mounting tape. I applied Faded Jeans ink to a piece of Icy Mint cardstock to create a bit of variegated blue although it doesn’t show well in the photo. I cut two sections of the Flower Bud and formed them using my small tipped stylus and molding pad.  I started assembling the flower by applying glossy accents to the top layer and attaching flowers all around the circle to cover.  Next, I covered the whole second and third layers with the flowers and attached with glossy accents.  Once all three layers were totally covered I added a few extra flowers in a few spots on the outer layer to make the circle look a little uneven and more natural.

The Leaves

I cut two leaves and added veins to each using the leaf tool and leaf pad from the Garden Tool Kit.  Once the veins were added I used my fingers to gently bend the leaves to add  natural dimension.

Come see how I made my clean and simple die cut hydrangea thank you card.

Assembling the Die Cut Hydrangea Thank You Card

I cut a piece of designer paper to the card base using double stick tape.  The sentiment layer and stamp  was secured in my MISTI and I used Peeled Paint ink to stamp the sentiment. I attached the sentiment was attached to the card base using strips of mounting tape.  The stem, leaves and hydrangea were attached to the sentiment layer using glossy accents.

Come see how I made my pretty clean and simple die cut hydrangea thank you card.

Die Cut Watering Can Flowers Scene

Good Friday morning.  I have a pretty die cut watering can flowers scene card to share with you today using several dies by Rubbernecker Stamps.  I used the Watering Can, Leaf Group, Mini Flower Stack and Tiny Flower Buds to create the main focal point of the scene and paired them with the Grass and Small Butterflies.  The background layers were made using the Nested Rectangle Scallop.

Come check out how I made this die cut watering can flowers scene card using Rubbernecker dies.

The Scalloped Layers and Grass

I started by cutting the rectangle layers, attached them together using double stick tape.  Next I attached them to the card base using mounting tape.  I cut a grass section, then cut it again using the scalloped die to create a matching scallop bottom so it would match the bottom of the scalloped card layer. I applied thin strips of mounting tape to the back of the grass, line it up over the white layer and attached.

Come see how I made this die cut watering can flowers scene card using Rubbernecker dies.

The Watering Can and Flowers

I cut the watering can using gray cardstock and used a mini applicator and Rusty Hinge ink to apply touches of rust to a few key spots on the can.  I cut a couple sections of small pink flowers and formed them using my stylus and molding pad.  Since the small flowers have holes in the center I cut tiny white flowers, lightly formed them and attached them on the back of each flower with glossy accents.  I like that the white shows trough the holes on the larger flowers.

I cut three sections of the Leaf Group and cut the branches apart.  I began the watering can arrangement by placing the smallest branches on the back of the can using glossy accents.  I worked my way back adding larger and taller branches to fill in the arrangement. Next I attached the flowers to the branches using glossy accents to complete the bouquet. I tucked the watering can in behind the grass and attached in place using mounting tape.

Completing the Die Cut Watering Can Flowers Scene

I tucked foliage branches and flowers in behind the grass and attached them in place using glossy accents.  I completed the scene by adding three small butterflies for the finishing touch.

Come let me show you how I made this die cut watering can flowers scene card using Rubbernecker dies.

I had lots of fun making this clean and simple die cut watering can flowers scene card with the bright pink flowers and butterflies.  I hope you have been inspired to pull out some of your garden dies and create a scene of your own.  If you need more flower bouquet inspiration you can check out this link that takes you to a Google listing of lots of my flower projects.  Thanks for coming by today and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Framed Tiny Paper Flowers

I have a pretty framed tiny paper flowers card to share with you today that I made for the Splitcoaststampers Clean and Simple Challenge.  The challenge this week was to use plaid.  I dug through all my designer pads and finally settled on this bright and cheerful paper.  Since the paper is so busy I decided to layer it on a white card base and to use a white frame.  I already had the Rubbernecker Tree Panel on my desk so I cut the branches off and paired it with the tiny flowers from the Flower Buds die.  The frame was made using the smaller frames from the Rectangle Combo die.

Come check out how I made this framed tiny paper flowers card with the colorful plaid background.

The Plaid Layer and Frame

I cut rectangle pieces of white card stock and plaid paper to 4.5 x 3.75″ and attached them together using ATG adhesive.  I used double stick tape to attach the two frame sections together.  Mounting tape was attached to the back of the plaid layer and the frame and then both were attached to the card base.

Come check out how I made this framed tiny paper flowers card with the colorful plaid background.

Framed Tiny Paper Flowers

I secured several branches to the card base using glossy accents to create the spray.  I created a multi loop white bow and attached it to the foliage and card base using glue dots. I cut the bright pink flowers, formed them using my tiny tipped stylus and molding pad and attached them to the foliage with glossy accents.  Check out my multi loop bow video tutorial over on YouTube if you would like to see how I make my bows.

Come see how I made this framed tiny paper flowers card with the colorful plaid background.

My framed tiny paper flowers card was really fast and easy to make and I think it is striking with the bright pink and green against the white.  I really appreciate you coming by today.  I hope you are enjoying a good week and that you can some time to get crafty.
