Halloween Pop Up Box Card

Today I’m sharing a Halloween pop up box card with a witch, spooky house, bats, ghosts and spiders.  For this project I used the Rubbernecker Stamps Spooky House, Spooky Tree, Witches, Ghosts, Bats and Spiderwebs and Lower Case Alphabet with Stitch.  I used the A2 Pop Up Box Card Kit by The Paper Cut for the box base.  I loved the idea of having all the black images against the orange background but gave little thought to how hard it would be to get good photos.  Ugh!  Sorry it is hard to see all of the elements clearly.

Come see how I made this scary Halloween pop up box card.

Assemble the 3D Pop Up Box Base

  • Cut the layering pieces.  The designer paper is from a long ago retired collection.
    • 2   2″ x 5 3/8″
    •   2″ x 2 5/8″
  • Attach the paper layers to the inside and outside card base using ATG adhesive.
  • Apply 1/2″ double stick tape to the tab, line it up and secure the box closed.
  • Cut the black sections to fit the tabs included in the kit and attach them with ATG adhesive.
  • Apply 1/2″ double stick tape to the tabs on both sides and insert them inside the box.
  • Note:  I use the Be Creative double stick tape on the tabs because it is much stronger than the ATG adhesive.  I like to use the ATG adhesive on layering paper because it is fast and easy.

Come see how I made this Halloween pop up box card.

The Spooky Elements

  • Cut the house using black cardstock and cut bright yellow cardstock to fit behind the windows.
  • Apply yellow Wink of Stella to the yellow cardstock, cut to fit behind the window and attach using Connect glue.
  • Attach the windows to the front of the house. Note:  Connect glue dries perfectly clear and doesn’t show if it squeezes out a little when attaching a piece.
  • Cut the witch, tree, bats, spiders and spiderwebs using black cardstock and cut the ghosts using white cardstock..
  • Apply glossy accents to the lower section of the house and attach to the box insert.
  • Use strips of mounting tape to attach the spooky tree, ghost and witch to the back wall of the box.
  • Attach the bats to the tree branches and tuck the branches to the box inserts using glossy accents.
  • Use Connect glue to attach the spider webs to the box flaps.
  • Cut the eek using black cardstock and attach to the flaps using small pieces of mounting tape.
  • Finish by attaching the spiders to the flaps using pieces of mounting tape.

I had so much fun making this Halloween pop up box card.  Although there are lots of parts and pieces it was pretty fast to make.  I wanted to get one more Halloween themed card in before the season was over.  I hope you enjoyed seeing my project.  Check out this Pinterest link to find more Halloween pop up box card inspiration.  Here is a link to all of my recent pop up box cards.  Thanks for coming by and I hope you have a great day.

Clean and Simple Trick or Treat Witches

Good Friday morning.  Today I’m sharing a clean and simple trick or treat witches card made using the Rubbernecker Stamps Witches set paired with the Wrought Iron Fence.  This card only took a few minutes to make and would be easy to recreate if you needed to make several Halloween cards.  The designer paper background is from a retired paper pack that I have had for years.

Come see how I made this fun clean and simple trick or treat witches card.

The Wrought Iron Background Strip

  • Cut a piece of cream cardstock and black strip of cardstock and attach them together using ATG adhesive.
  • Use black cardstock to cut two wrought iron fence sections.
  • Trim the bottom portion of the fences off, leaving only the decorative top portions and attach the two sections together using glossy accents.
  • Apply double stick tape to the back of the layer and attach the fence section.
  • Attach the white and black layer to the card base using strips of mounting tape.

Come see how I made this clean and simple trick or treat witches card.

The Witches

  • Cut the witches using black cardstock.
  • Apply pieces of mounting tape to the back of the witches.
  • Line the witches up evenly on the background strip and attach.

Come see how I made this spooky clean and simple trick or treat witches card.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my clean and simple trick or treat witches card. For some reason the middle witch reminds me of Samantha from Bewitched.  LOL!  Do you need inspiration to get you in the mood to make your Halloween cards?  Check out this Pinterest page for lots of ideas.  Thanks for coming by and I hope you have a great upcoming weekend.

Halloween Spider and Spiderwebs

Good Monday morning.  My project today is a Halloween spider and spiderwebs card made for the Splitcoaststampers Clean and Simple Challenge to use bricks in some way.  I thought the brick wall would be the perfect backdrop for a few framed spiderwebs and a single dangling spider.  I used the new Rubbernecker Bats and Spiderwebs set along with the new Brick Wall Stencil.  I created the simple frame using the Nested Rectangle set.

Come see how I made this Halloween spider and spiderwebs card.

The Brick Wall Background

  • Secure a piece of white cardstock and the stencil in place using pieces of eclipse masking take.
  • Apply Antique Linen, Vintage Photo and Rusty Hinge ink to the cardstock using Life Changing Blender BrushesNote:  I can’t say enough about how much I love these brushes.  I only have the sample set right now but fully intend to get the full set soon.  Have you tried them?  If not……you should.
  • Remove the tape and stencil and apply Antique Linen ink over the whole piece to color in the mortar lines.

Come see how I made this fun Halloween spider and spiderwebs card.

The Frame, Spiderwebs and Spider

  • Line up two of the rectangle dies on the magnetic platform and cut a white frame.
  • Use white cardstock to cut the spiderwebs and black cardstock to cut the spider.
  • Apply strips of double stick tape to the back of the frame and attach the spiderwebs.
  • Cut and attach thin strips of mounting tape to the back of the frame and attach it over the brick background on the card base.
  • Finish by attaching the spider with a double layer of mounting tape.

Come see how I made this spooky Halloween spider and spiderwebs card.

I think this clean and simple Halloween spider and spiderwebs card is fun and not too spooky.  You can check out this Halloween Spider Card Pinterest if you would like more inspiration.  I appreciate you coming by today and I hope you have a great week.

Z Fold Box Spooky House Halloween Card

Today I’m sharing a Z Fold Box spooky house Halloween card made using several of the newly released dies by Rubbernecker Stamps.  I have so much fun creating Z Fold cards because they allow for so much more dimensional landscape than a regular flat card front.  For this project I used the Spooky House, Spooky Tree, Wrought Iron Fence, Deckle Hills, Ghosts, Witches and Pumpkins and Ivy die sets.

Come see how I made this Z Fold Box Halloween card.

Card Base and Box

  • Use the pre-scored Easel card kit to create the base.
  • Cut 2 2.5″ x 4.00″ purple layers  and one 5.25″ x 4.00″ layer and attach them to the card base using ATG adhesive.
  • Cut and 11.00″ x 1.50″ Deckle Hill layer using green cardstock. Note:  place the strip of green cardstock on the cutting platform, place the die at one end and run through the machine.  Place the die where the first die cut ended, line it up and run through the machine a second time.
  • Score the grass layer at 5.50″ and 8.25″.
  • Cut four sections of the wrought iron fence and attach them together using glossy accents.
  • Measure and cut a strip of fence to fit across the front portion of the grass layer, apply glossy accents to the front of the fence and tuck it in behind the grass layer and attach.
  • Measure and cut two small fence sections to fit on the box side and card back, tuck in behind the grass and attach using glossy accents.
  • Apply double stick tape on both ends of the back of the grass layer and attach to the card base.
  • Cut four grass layers 3.75″ x 1.50″ and score at .50″ on each end.  Fold left side forward and the right side backwards.
  • Apply double stick tape to the folded tab ends of the grass inserts and attach them inside the box

Come see how I made this fun Z Fold Box Halloween card.

The Spooky House

  • Cut the house using lavender and light green cardstock.
  • Apply strips of mounting tape to the back of the roof sections and attach to the house.
  • Apply Gina K Connect Glue to the back of the windows and door sections and attach to the house.  Note:  I like to use the Connect glue to attach small pieces like the windows because it dries clear.  I still prefer to use Glossy Accents when attaching pieces together like flowers, etc.
  • Cut a piece of scrap lavender cardstock to fit on the back of the house to use to secure it to the inner grassy layer and attach the scrap layer and house together using double stick tape.
  • Apply several strips of double stick tape to the front of the bottom support section of the house and attach it to the last grass insert layer.

The Spooky Scene Parts and Pieces

  • Cut four Spooky Trees.
  • Score one of the trees right down the middle and fold in half.
  • Apply double stick tape to the left side of the fold and attach it to the inner section of the card base.  Make sure the branches on the right side of the tree show in front of the house.
  • Apply mounting tape to the back of two of the trees and attach one to the front section and one to the back section of the card base.
  • Cut the fourth tree apart and attach the branches to the grass inserts using glossy accents.
  • Cut several pumpkins, apply Spiced Marmalade ink using a mini applicator and color the stem using a brown makrer.
  • Draw faces on the pumpkins using a black multi-liner marker.
  • Form the pumpkins slightly with your fingers and attach to the grass sections using strips of mounting tape.
  • Cut a moon circle, attach to the back card base using mounting tape and apply shimmer using a shimmer pen.
  • Attach a flying witch to the moon using mounting tape.
  • Finish by attaching a few white ghosts to the scene and attach using pieces of mounting tape.

Come see how I made this spooky Z Fold Box Halloween card.

Halloween Card with Spiders

Today I’m sharing a spooky and fun Halloween card with spiders and spiderwebs made using the newly released Bats and Spiderwebs set by Rubbernecker Stamps.  I don’t know about you but I do not like spiders.  I have run across a few huge ones in my house over the years and it isn’t pleasant to say the least.  They say you shouldn’t kill spiders because they eat other insect pests in the house but I always have a fear of them crawling on me when I’m asleep at night.  Yuck.  So a Halloween card full of spiders is something I can relate to as being very spooky.  LOL!  I used the Square Combo #1 die set to create the frame for the spider webs.

Come see how I made this Halloween card with spiders.

The Frame and Spiderwebs

  • Cut the frame using black cardstock and the spiderwebs using white cardstock.
  • Apply double stick tape all the way around the back of the frame.
  • Attach the spiderwebs evenly around the back of the frame.
  • Apply mounting tape to the back of the frames and webs and attach to the card base.

Come see how I made this spooky Halloween card with spiders.

The Spiders

  • Cut the spiders using black cardstock.
  • Gently form the spiders using a large ball stylus and molding pad.
  • Apply small pieces of mounting tape to the back of the spiders and attach to the webs and card base.

Come see how I made this fun Halloween card with spiders.

Making this Halloween card with spiders was really fast and easy and would be fun to make several at once if you needed more than one.  I think the black, white and orange color combination screams Halloween.  You can check out my Halloween category if you would like more Halloween card inspiration.  Thank you for coming by and I hope you have a great day.

  • Cut the frame, fence and ground layers using black cardstock.
  • Attach the two largest frame sections together using double stick tape.
  • Attach the ground layer  and fence to the back of the frame using double stick tape.
  • Apply thin strips of mounting tape all the way around the back of the frame and attach it to the purple card base.

Come see how I made this fun Halloween ghosts and bats card.

The Ghosts, Bats, Tree and Moon

  • Use bright yellow cardstock to cut the moon and apply shimmer to the moon using a Tonic Nuvo shimmer pen.
  • Trim the top portion of the moon off, tuck it in behind the frame and attach it to the card base using mounting tape.
  • Cut the bats and tree using black cardstock.
  • Apply strips of mounting tape to the back of the tree, tuck it in behind the ground layer and attach it to the card base.
  • But the ghosts using white cardstock and attach black pieces of cardstock to the back using glossy accents to cover the eye openings.
  • Apply pieces of mounting tape to the back of the ghosts and attach them to the frame and card base.
  • Finish by attaching the bats to the moon and card base using small pieces of mounting tape.

Come see how I made this spooky Halloween ghosts and bats card.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing this fun Halloween ghosts and bats card.  I don’t like Halloween projects based on horror.  I much prefer cartoony images that create a fun scene.  Check out this Pinterest Halloween Cards link if you would like more inspiration.  Have you had the chance to check out the whole Fall Die Release by Rubbernecker?  There are some really fun die sets to use to create Halloween and fall projects.  I’ve linked the whole release below so you can check it out.
