Halloween Card with Spiders

Today I’m sharing a spooky and fun Halloween card with spiders and spiderwebs made using the newly released Bats and Spiderwebs set by Rubbernecker Stamps.  I don’t know about you but I do not like spiders.  I have run across a few huge ones in my house over the years and it isn’t pleasant to say the least.  They say you shouldn’t kill spiders because they eat other insect pests in the house but I always have a fear of them crawling on me when I’m asleep at night.  Yuck.  So a Halloween card full of spiders is something I can relate to as being very spooky.  LOL!  I used the Square Combo #1 die set to create the frame for the spider webs.

Come see how I made this Halloween card with spiders.

The Frame and Spiderwebs

  • Cut the frame using black cardstock and the spiderwebs using white cardstock.
  • Apply double stick tape all the way around the back of the frame.
  • Attach the spiderwebs evenly around the back of the frame.
  • Apply mounting tape to the back of the frames and webs and attach to the card base.

Come see how I made this spooky Halloween card with spiders.

The Spiders

  • Cut the spiders using black cardstock.
  • Gently form the spiders using a large ball stylus and molding pad.
  • Apply small pieces of mounting tape to the back of the spiders and attach to the webs and card base.

Come see how I made this fun Halloween card with spiders.

Making this Halloween card with spiders was really fast and easy and would be fun to make several at once if you needed more than one.  I think the black, white and orange color combination screams Halloween.  You can check out my Halloween category if you would like more Halloween card inspiration.  Thank you for coming by and I hope you have a great day.

Today I’m sharing a spooky Halloween ghosts and bats card using several of the newly released dies by Rubbernecker Stamps.  I used the Ghosts, Spooky Tree, Bats and Spiderwebs, Wrought Iron FenceRectangle Combo #4, Deckle Hills and Nested Circles.  This was fast and easy to put togher and would be a perfect card for someone who loves Halloween.

Come see how I made this Halloween ghosts and bats card.

The Frame, Fence and Ground

  • Cut the frame, fence and ground layers using black cardstock.
  • Attach the two largest frame sections together using double stick tape.
  • Attach the ground layer  and fence to the back of the frame using double stick tape.
  • Apply thin strips of mounting tape all the way around the back of the frame and attach it to the purple card base.

Come see how I made this fun Halloween ghosts and bats card.

The Ghosts, Bats, Tree and Moon

  • Use bright yellow cardstock to cut the moon and apply shimmer to the moon using a Tonic Nuvo shimmer pen.
  • Trim the top portion of the moon off, tuck it in behind the frame and attach it to the card base using mounting tape.
  • Cut the bats and tree using black cardstock.
  • Apply strips of mounting tape to the back of the tree, tuck it in behind the ground layer and attach it to the card base.
  • But the ghosts using white cardstock and attach black pieces of cardstock to the back using glossy accents to cover the eye openings.
  • Apply pieces of mounting tape to the back of the ghosts and attach them to the frame and card base.
  • Finish by attaching the bats to the moon and card base using small pieces of mounting tape.

Come see how I made this spooky Halloween ghosts and bats card.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing this fun Halloween ghosts and bats card.  I don’t like Halloween projects based on horror.  I much prefer cartoony images that create a fun scene.  Check out this Pinterest Halloween Cards link if you would like more inspiration.  Have you had the chance to check out the whole Fall Die Release by Rubbernecker?  There are some really fun die sets to use to create Halloween and fall projects.  I’ve linked the whole release below so you can check it out. Impression Obsession Happy Haunting Halloween

Good Thursday morning.  My projects today were made for the Impression Obsession Happy Haunting Halloween design team challenge.  I sure hope you’ll come and play along with us.  You can see all the challenge details and prize information on the Impression Obsession Blog.

I’m not fond of horror Halloween themes so I usually choose more cartoony dies and stamps to play with.  My first project was made with the Spider Web Background, Spider Trio and All-in-One Frames Rectangles 2.  I would not want to run into a spider web with these three scary spiders in it.  LOL!

Come see how I made this sppoky spider Impression Obsession happy haunting Halloween card.

The Spider Web, Frame and Spiders

  • Cut the spider web background using white cardstock.
  • Cut the frame and spiders using black cardstock.
  • Apply double stick tape to the back of the frame and attach the spider web background.
  • Apply thin strips of mounting tape to the back of the frame and attach it to the orange card base.
  • Lightly form the spider bodies using a large stylus and molding pad and bend their legs a little with your fingers create the appearance of movement.
  • Apply double layered pieces of mounting tape to the back of the spiders and attach them to the orange card base.

My second card was made using the Halloween Cutout Circles and All-in-One Frames Rectangles 2.  I think these small circle silhouettes are so fun used all together on one card but would be very cute used individually one small cards or tags.  And again, these are all whimsical images that are full of Halloween fun and not  yucky horror type images.  Come see how I made this fun Impression Obsession happy haunting Halloween card.

The Circle Cutouts and Frame

  • Line the circles up on the black cardstock and cut them.  The circles come tabbed together but I never cut them apart so it would be easier to cut them so they were all lined up perfectly.
  • Cut the frame using orange cardstock.
  • Apply thin strips of mounting tape to the back of the frame.
  • Attach the circle layer to the back of the frame.
  • Apply double stick tape to the back of the circle layer and frame and attach a piece of orange cardstock behind the openings.  I wanted the circle images to lay flat against the orange background..
  • Attach the completed circle frame to the black card base using double stick tape.

I hope my fast and easy Impression Obsession Happy Haunting Halloween cards have inspired you to get out your dies and stamps.  Halloween is just around the corner.  I can’t believe how fast this year has gone by.  Thanks for coming by and I hope you’ll hop over to the Impression Obsession blog to check out the challenge and the list of other team members who have projects to share.

Impression Obsession “Haunted Greetings” Challenge

Good Thursday morning and welcome to the Impression Obsession “Haunted Greetings” design team challenge.  I’m not so fond of spooky or scary Halloween projects so I tend to stick with things that are more on the fun and cute side.  I decided to do something a little different today and made the majority of my project black and white.  My card was made using the Square Tree Window, Boo and Mini Bats.  The designer paper in the background is Essentials by Ellen Modern Graphics.

KC Impression Obsession Boo 1 right

I started by attaching the designer paper to the card base using ATG adhesive.  I then attached mounting tape to the back of the tree window frame and attached it to the card base.  I die cut the Boo and accessories in black, white and orange so I could layer them to create a shadow of color so they would show up better on the black and white background.  I attached the ghost, cat and witch hat to the colored background piece with glossy accents.

KC Impression Obsession Boo 1 center

The Boo sentiment was attached to the frame with pieces of mounting tape. The hat, cat and ghost were attached to the Boo with pieces of mounting tape.  I finished by adding a few white bats to the frame for a white contrast against the black frame.

Why don’t you come along and play with us. To enter the challenge and see a complete list of our team payers go to the Impression Obsession Blog.  You’ll see all the details there!  A random challenge card will be selected to showcase on the IO blog.
