White on White Snowy Forest Scene

Good Monday morning.  I love making white on white projects with a few touches of color.  I recently made a fall card for my CLASSroom post using the Impression Obsession Tree Frame  and adding colorful leaves.  My project today takes white on white to a new high for me because I added even more white with Polar White Flower Soft. I love how it added a soft touch to the sweet scene with the mother and baby deer from the Deer Trio. .

I started by painting Crafter’s Pick Ultimate Glue on the branches with an old paint brush and applying the flower soft. I did this in steps and painting small areas at a time so my glue wouldn’t dry out before I could get the flower soft on.  I did a tutorial back in September showing the steps of applying the glue and flower soft to the tree branches and how I created the frame and scenery around the tree.  You can find the tutorial here

Note:  Don’t use a good brush to apply the glue.  The glue does wash out with water but it isn’t so great for the bristles. I actually attached my old brush to my bottle of glue with a rubber band so I would remember to use the same brush over and over.  I am absent minded when crafting and reach for the first brush I come to.  LOL!  I’ve ruined a few good ones by mistreating them.

While the tree was drying I attached snowy ground pieces to the back of the frame with 1/8” double stick tape.  I then painted on the glue to both sections and applied flower soft.  Patience is not my strong suit so I whistled the Jeopardy tune while everything was drying and cut the deer, fir sprigs and birds and embellished the baby deer’s neck with foliage and berries.  When everything was dry I applied 1/8” double stick tape  to the back of the frame and attached the tree frame. I applied thin pieces of mounting tape to the back of the frame and tree trunk and attached to the card base.

Note:  I had to cut 3/4 of the tree frame border off to make it fit to the outer frame.

Here’s a closer view of the branches.  I added the red birds to add interest to all that white.

Here’s a closer view of the deer, snow banks and foliage. I attached the deer to the card base with mounting tape.  I tucked the foliage in behind the snow layers and around the deer and attached with glossy accents. I finished by painting glue on the foliage and applying the flower soft.  I didn’t apply the glue and flower soft before attaching the sprigs to the scene because I knew my fingers would damage it in the process.

I almost colored the deer as well but thought they made a stronger impact on the scene in white even though they are slightly lost with the tree branches behind them.

I hope you have a great week and don’t work too hard preparing for your Thanksgiving dinner.

White on White Anja’s Border and Butterfly

Good Monday morning.  My project today was made with my new Marianne Design Anja’s Border and paired with the Impression Obsession Fancy Butterfly set and the foliage branch from the Poppystamps Massa Leaf frame set.  I love making white on white elegant cards but taking pictures of them not so much.  It is very difficult to get the lighting right and it is hard to capture all the detail.  I photographed this card with a several different colored backgrounds and the pink photos turned out the best. This was a really fast card to make and took about three times longer to take pictures than complete the project.  LOL!

I cut the border and attached it to the card base with mounting tape. I cut three branches of leaves, scored each leaf with my leaf tool and pad, curled the leaves in with my fingers and then attached to the border layer with glossy accents.

I cut both butterflies and attached them together with glossy accents.  I folded up the wings and attached it over the branches with glossy accents.I added the white pearls to the butterfly body for the finishing touch.

White on White Christmas Wreath

Good Monday morning.  I have to work today and then will get to enjoy the rest of the holiday week home on vacation. My husband had to work on Thanksgiving day but we are fortunate that he is off Christmas day.  Disney’s main man, Mickey Mouse never takes a holiday.  He’s a touch boss.  Smile

My project today will be my last holiday wreath of the season.  I love making wreaths so I’m sure I will soon pull out my spring and summer foliage and flowers and keeping them coming. Wreaths are such a Christmas tradition and are perfect hanging on the front door as well as on a card front.

This is a very simple layout and I thought the red layer behind the white was the perfect way to add another touch of color to the project.  I mounted the layer on the main card base with strips of mounting tape to add interest and dimension.

I cut the Impression Obsession Twig Wreath and Pine Sprig Cluster pieces in all white.  I arranged and attached the white foliage to about a 1/2 of the wreath but left the rest of it plain to show off the twig form. I cut pieces of the Holly Leaf Cluster and inserted them in between the sprigs of pine. I punched several 1/8” circles to add around the wreath to fill in and bring another element of color to the design. I finished with an organdy multi loop bow and attached the wreath to the base with mounting tape. I love how this turned out.

White on White Tree and Deer

Good Sunday morning.  I am still having fun making Christmas cards and will continue right up to last day. I always feel a little sad when it’s time to stop making them.  But I am looking forward to what the New Year brings and breaking out my flower dies.

My project was made using the Impression Obsession Deer Trio and the largest tree from the Fir Trees set. I used a Cuttlebug Dotted embossing folder for the background and I used Classic Ovals for the frame.

I cut the tree, covered it with glossy accents and applied the polar white flower soft. I cut the deer, attached a few tips of the fir sprigs and red punched circles for just a touch of color.

I cut the frames and attached together with mounting tape.  I attached the embossed background to the back of the frame and attached to the card base. I attached the tree and deer to the frame opening with mounting tape. I love the simplicity of the all white with the tiny pops of red and green.
