Apple Picking 3D Pop Up Box

Today I’m sharing another 3D pop up box card with an apple picking theme.  I know!  I seem to have gone a little crazy this week making Z fold and pop up box cards.  I just can’t seem to help myself.  They are so fun to make.  For this card I used the Rubbernecker Stamps Winter Tree, Small Ivy, Apple Cart, Grass Set, Tall Buckets, Knob Top Fence, Baskets, Accessories #1, Tiny Flower Buds and Small Butterflies.  I used the A2 Pop Up Box Card Kit from The Paper Cut  for the card base.

Come see how I made cute this 3D pop up box .

Assemble the 3D Pop Up Box Base

  • Cut the layering pieces.
    • 2   2″ x 5 3/8″
    •   2″ x 2 5/8″
  • Attach the paper layers to the inside and outside card base using double stick tape.
  • Apply double stick tape to the tab, line it up and secure the box closed.
  • Cut the grass sections to fit the tabs included in the kit and attach them with double stick tape.
  • Apply double stick tape to the tabs on both sides and insert them inside the box.
  • Cut an additional grass section and attach to the inside front of the box using double stick tape.

The Apple Tree

  • Cut the tree using woodgrain cardstock and swipe the Antique Linen ink pad directly over it to add color.
  • Use green cardstock to cut the ivy leaves and red cardstock to cut the apples.
  • Apply the apples and leaves to the tree branches using glossy accents.
  • Apply mounting tape to the trunk of the tree and rolled up glue dots to several key leaves on the back of the tree and attach to the card base.
  • Note:  I loved the idea of using red gingham paper for the card base but didn’t realize how hard it would be to see the apple tree up against it.  If I had it to do over again I would have created a cloud blue background for the top so the tree and apples could be seen better.  Next time!

Come see how I made this fun 3D pop up box .

The Apple Crates, Buckets and Baskets

  • Cut the baskets and crates using a light woodgrain veneer cardstock and cut the bucket using gray cardstock.
  • Use dark woodgrain cardstock to cut the apple cart.
  • Apply Rusty Hinge ink to the bucket to distress.
  • Use red cardstock to cut more apples.
  • Attach the apples to the back of the crates, buckets and baskets using glossy accents.
  • Use glossy accents to attach the apple cart, basket and crate to the grass layers.

Come see how I made colorful this 3D pop up box .

Decorate the Flaps

  • Cut fence sections using white cardstock and grass sections using green cardstock.
  • Use double stick tape to attach the fence and grass sections to the flaps.
  • Tuck the bucket and baskets in behind the grass layers and attach using mounting tape.
  • Cut tiny flower buds using red cardstock and form them using a small tip stylus and molding pad.
  • Use green cardstock to cut the small ivy sections.
  • Attach tiny flowers to the ivy sections using glossy accents and attach them around the baskets and bucket.
  • Finish the card by attaching a few white butterflies and apples to the scene using glossy accents.

Fall Pop Up Box Card Ideas

Today I’m sharing fall pop up box card ideas using several of the newly released dies by Rubbernecker Stamps.  Yesterday I posted a Z Fold cornfield card with an old flatbed truck, crows and cats.  My project today has a field of corn with the main focal image being on the fun scarecrow in the background.  I filled all three flaps of the box with a fence, pumpkins, corn and squirrels to carry on the fall theme.  I love the crows that come with the scarecrow set and I had to add a few more to the flaps.  Any of the fall components of this card could be used as main focal images for fall cards.

For this project I used the Scarecrow, Corn Stalks, Picket Fence, Pumpkins and Ivy, Apples, Pears and Corn, Wagon, Baskets, Birds, Chickens and Squirrels, Grass, and Small Ivy.  I used The Paper Cut Square Pop Up Box Kit for my card base.

Come see my fall pop up box card ideas.

The Box Base and Layers

  • Use the bone folder to reinforce all the score lines .
  • Cut the designer paper layering pieces.
  • Apply ATG adhesive to the back of all the layering pieces and attach to the inside and outside sections and flaps.
  • Apply double stick tape to the side insert flap, line the box sides up and attach the two ends together to form the box.
  • Cut grass and fence sections to fit the three flaps and attach with double stick tape.
  • Cut grass insert sections to fit the insert fronts and attach using double stick tape.  Score both ends at 1/2″ in.
  • Cut several sections of cornstalks and attach to the back of the insert layers using glossy accents.
  • Apply double stick tape to each tab and insert the tabs to the inside of the box.
  • The designer paper layer sizes:
    •  2   5 5/8″ x 3 5/8″ layers
    •  2   3 5/8″ x 2 3/4″ layers
    •  4   1 7/8″ x 2 3/4″ layers

How to Make a Flower Pop Up Box Card

Today I’m sharing a flower pop up box card made using dies by Rubbernecker Stamps.  The main focus of the card is the new Cart and Cart Accessories #1 and are paired with several flower themed die sets listed below.  I questioned whether I should post this card as I had a very difficult time getting good pictures.  I took a few close up clear views to show off the different sections.  I used the Square Pop Up Box Card Kit by The Paper Cut and Carta Bella Flower Market paper pad.

Come see how I made this pretty flower pop up box card.

The Box Base and Layers

  • Use the bone folder to reinforce all the score lines .
  • Cut the designer paper layering pieces.
  • Apply double stick tape to the back of all the layering pieces and attach to the inside back cover and flaps and the outside sections of the box sections.
  • Apply double stick tape to the side insert flap, line the box sides up and attach the two ends together to form the box.
  • Cut deckle hill sections to fit the three flaps and attach with double stick tape.
  • Cut deckle hill insert sections using green cardstock. Cut and score both ends at 1/2″ in.
  • Fold the deckle hill insert tabs, apply double stick tape to each tab and insert the tabs to the inside of the box.
  • Note:  The kit comes with three inserts for each box.  I used five deckle hill strips instead of three to create a fuller looking grass are in the opening.

Come see how I made this colorful flower pop up box card.

The Flower Cart

  • Cut the flower cart using woodgrain cardstock and the awning using pink and white cardstock.
  • Attach the white awning sections to the pink base using glossy accents.
  • Assemble the cart parts and attach using glossy accents.  (the detail parts of the cart are hidden by the larger pots of flowers)
  • Apply mounting tape to the cart and awning and attach to the back layer of the pop up box card.
  • Apply Vintage Photo ink to the cart using a mini applicator.

The Flowers, Pots and Garden Cart

  • Cut the cart accessories parts and color using markers, distress inks and mini applicators.
  • Assemble the accessory parts and attach to the cart using glossy accents.
  • Cut and assemble the garden cart , attach using glossy accents and apply Vintage Photo ink with a mini applicator.
  • Use pink and yellow cardstock to cut the tulips.
  • Apply Wild Honey ink to the yellow tulips and Worn Lipstick ink to the pink tulips using mini applicators and attach the flowers to the stems using glossy accents.
  • Use gray cardstock to cut the bucket and color using Wild Honey and Rusty Hinge ink and mini applicators.
  • Cut flowers using light pink, bright pink and white cardstock.
  • Apply Worn Lipstick and Wild Honey ink to the center of the larger flowers using mini applicators.
  • Form the flowers using a stylus and molding pad.
  • Cut several small ivy and leaf group sections.

Assemble the Flower Pop Up Box Card

  • Arrange and attach the flowers in the bucket and flower pots using glossy accents.
  • Attach tulip bucket to the side flap using mounting tape and attach a few stems to the grass using glossy accents.

KC Rubbernecker Pop Up Flower Cart right flap

  • Attach flower pots to the garden cart using glossy accents and attach the cart to the front flap using mounting tape.
  • Attach the garden boots to the flap using mounting tape.
  • Tuck an ivy and flower section in behind the grass and attach using glossy accents.

KC Rubbernecker Pop Up Flower Cart center flap

  • Attach the tulip stems to the back of the flower pot using glossy accents.
  • Use mounting tape to attach the tulip pot to the side flap.
  • Tuck an ivy flower section behind the grass and attach using glossy accents.

KC Rubbernecker Pop Up Flower Cart left flap

  • Finish the card by attaching ivy and flower sections on both sides of the deckle hill sections in the box area to create the appearance of a path back to the garden cart.

Come see how I made this colorful flower pop up box card.

I’m sorry the photos of my flower pop up box card aren’t more clear.  I had a great time designing this card and putting all the pieces together and I’m a little disappointed that the photos don’t do the project justice.  I’m sure it would help if I would go and take a photography class.  LOL!  If you would like more flower card inspiration you can check out my Pinterest Flower Card board.  Thanks for coming by and I hope you have a great weekend.

Beach Pop Up Card

Summer is here and I had so much fun making this beach pop up card with all of these iconic beach images.  I used the new Rubbernecker Lifeguard Tower, Beach Umbrellas, Woody Die and Palm Trees paired with the Beach Chairs, Waves, Deckle Hills, Sun Moon, Knob Top Fence (turned upside down), Grass #2 and Small Birds.  I used The Paper Cut Square Pop Up Box Card kit for the base of my card.

Come see how I made this bright beach pop up card.

  • Cut wave and sand insert sections using blue and Kraft cardstock.  Cut, score both ends at 1/2″ in.
  • Fold the wave and sand insert tabs, apply double stick tape to each tab and insert the tabs to the inside of the box.
  • Attach sand layers to the box flaps using double stick tape.
  • Note:  The kit comes with three inserts for each box.  I used five strips instead of three to create a fuller looking water and sand area in the box opening.

Come see how I made this colorful beach pop up card.

Assemble the Die Cut Images

  • Assemble the lifeguard tower pieces using mounting tape and glossy accents and attach to the card base using mounting tape.
  • Assemble the Woody pieces using glossy accents and mounting tape and attach to the sand section using glossy accents.
  • Use glossy accents to assemble the palm trees and attach them to the card base using glossy accents and mounting tape.
  • Attach the sun to the card base using glossy accents.
  • Cut the chairs and tuck them in between the sand layers and attach using mounting tape.
  • Use glossy accents to attach the white umbrella layers to the red and attach to the front flap using mounting tape.
  • Cut one fence section into four pieces, tuck them in behind the sand sections and attach using glossy accents. Note: I turned the fence upside down and trimmed the bottom layer using my deckle scissors to make it appear more rustic like an old fence.

The Finishing Touches

  • Attach a yellow surf board to the left flap area  and a red and white hand cut ball to the right flap using mounting tape.
  • Attach sprigs of grass in between the sand sections using glossy accents.
  • Create a towel by cutting thin strips of red cardstock and attach them to white cardstock using glossy accents.   Fringe the ends using snips and attach it to the chair using glue dots.
  • Finish by attaching flying birds to the sky area of the flaps using mounting tape.

Come see how I made this fun beach pop up card.

This beach pop up box card was so much fun to make.  Sadly,  the pictures didn’t show off the waves in the correct color and don’t really do the card justice.  That just seems to be how it goes with me and photography.  I should probably go and take lessons.  Thanks for coming by and I hope you have a great day.

Pop Up Flower Garden Box

Good Monday morning.  Today I’m sharing a colorful pop up flower garden box card filled with lots of different die cut flowers made by Rubbernecker Stamps.  The box was made using The Paper Cut Square Pop Up Box and covered with two coordinating designer papers. The box was filled using the Mixable Flower Stack, Flowers #3, Flowers #7, Flowers #2, Flower Buds, Tiny Flower BudsLeaf Group, Large Ivy, Grass Set, and I added the Picket Fence, Small Butterflies and Watering Can on the box flaps.

Come check out how I made this pop up flower garden box.

  • Cut grass insert sections using green cardstockCut, score both ends at 1/2″ in.
  • Fold the grass insert tabs, apply double stick tape to each tab and insert the tabs to the inside of the box.
  • Note:  The kit comes with three inserts for each box.  I used five grass strips instead of three to create a fuller looking grass are in the opening.

The Flowers and Foliage

  • Cut several sections of the large ivy and leaf group dies using green cardstock.
  • Cut the flowers using bright colored cardstock that matches the designer paper.
  • Form the flowers using a stylus and molding pad.
  • Assemble the multi layered flowers and attach using glossy accents.
  • Attach the flower buds to the ivy and leaf sections using glossy accents.

Come check out how I made this colorful pop up flower garden box.

Assemble the Garden

  • Begin filling the box with the larger flowers, attaching them to the back wall and grass sections using glossy accents.
  • Attach ivy and flower sections to the back wall to fill in around the large flowers.
  • Attach foliage and flower sections to the front rows of grass using glossy accents to fill in the garden.

The Fence, Watering Can and Butterflies

  • Cut the fence sections using white cardstock and attach to the box flaps using double stick tape along the bottom and a few small pieces of mounting tape across the top pickets.
  • Attach the grass sections to the fence using double stick tape.
  • Cut the watering can using gray cardstock and apply Wild Honey and Rusty Hinge ink with a mini applicator.
  • Fill in the watering can with leaf sections and flowers to create a small bouquet.
  • Tuck the watering can in behind the grass and attach with a piece of mounting tape.
  • Tuck small leaf and flowers sections in behind the grass on all three flaps and attach with glossy accents.
  • Finish by attaching the small butterflies to the flaps using glossy accents.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my pop up flower garden box card. I had so much fun picking out the designer papers, cardstock and dies.  The box layering papers are a little busy but I like how the flowers in the garden carry on the colors and flower theme of the paper.  Have you had a chance to check out all the different card kits at The Paper Cut?  There are so many great choices and the kits take all the guess work out of making dimensional 3D car
