Country Cottage

Good Saturday morning.  My project today was made for the Splitcoaststampers Free For All Challenge to use something wood.  All the wood  turned out to be a little darker than I anticipated but I really like to the country cottage feel.KC Impression Obsession Birdhouse 3 right

My first thought of something wood was to use the My Favorite Things Woodgrain Fence.  I knew it would be cute in front of the Impression Obsession house accessorized with wood trimmed windows and door.  All of that would have been plenty to fulfill the requirements of the challenge but I had to add the tree in the scene as well.

All of the wood pieces were cut using kraft cardstock and then sponged with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The roof portion was cut with scalloped scissors and then crimped.  The house was attached directly to the card base and the fence was attached with mounting tape.  The tree was popped up with rolled up glue dots so it would stand free from the house. All the little flowers and leaves were made using the Flower Mound die and the grass was cut using MFT Fresh Cut Grass die.

Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by.

  2. Great card. You have truly inspired me since I have been following your blog over the last year or so. I have tried several of the techniques that you have shown. I was so excited to see Rubberneckers booth at the Chantilly craft show last week and bought 2 of your stamp sets….can’t wait to ink them up! Thanks for sharing your creativity.

  3. Hi Kittie,
Still loving all your cards. Just ordered little bike die. Can you e-mail me a scanned copy of your cloud template? I could trace it on medium cardboard so I have one also. Thank you.
