Good Sunday morning. For my project today I tried a new technique introduced this week on Splitcoaststampers by my friend, Bev called Water Stamping. The technique is to sponge color on plain white or cream cardstock and stamp a background image using water. You can check out Bev’s step by step photos here.
I sponged antique linen distress ink on cream cardstock and stamped with the Rubbernecker Victorian Damask background using water. The image popped up when I heat dried the paper but it really doesn’t show very well in the photo.
The panel was created using the Martha Stewart Eyelet PATP border punch and crimped. I attached it to the base using mounting to create an element of dimension.
I created an antique rose using the new My Favorite Things Layered Rose and paired it with the new Medium Leafy Flourish. I sponged antique linen ink on the rose so it would match the background but left the foliage plain so it would pop against the background.
I hope your weekend has been relaxing and enjoyable. Mine has been. Thanks for stopping in.
