2012 Favorite Projects in Review

Good Monday morning.  I can hardly believe this is the last day of December and that we are heading into another new year.  I thought it would be fun to go back and post a review of my favorite projects for each month of  2012. I will attach a link to the date for each project in case you want to go back and check out the details.

 Flowers, Flowers, and more Flowers

There are three different projects on this January post and I had a hard time deciding which was my favorite. I finally settled for this mixed floral spray.

I learned the Belleek inspired technique in 2012 and it became one of my favorite techniques to use with flowers.

White With Shades Of Blue

I wanted my flowers to have just a hint of color and used a technique that I refer to as the color washed technique.

Spring Tulips

KC Tulips 3 right

I loved the single tulip image by Rubbernecker and thought it was well worth the trouble of painting several and hand cutting to create the tulip bouquet.

Deer and Butterflies

KC Memory Box Deer Trio 2 right

I was intrigued by the Deer Trio set from the minute I saw it on Ellen Hutson’s and knew I had to have it.  I have made many projects using the set representing spring, summer and winter scenes.

I had to sneak another deer project in called Mother and Baby Deer that was made in June. I added white watercolor paint to the deer to create a more realistic look.

I love creating birdhouse projects and have made many of them throughout the year. I especially love the wooden birdhouse and you can see the full birdhouse post called Home Sweet Home here.

Rolled Rose Floral Spray

KC MFT Rolled Roses 1 right

I have fallen in love with rolled roses and have collected many different dies.  This may be my all time favorite rolled rose project because I love the contrast of the red and green against the all white background.

Stocking Card

KC Memory Box Eyelet Stocking 2 remake rightr

I started making Christmas cards in August and kept on making them right on through December. It seems there is never enough time to make all the cards needed for the holidays.

I have become addicted to playing with dies and this Christmas house is my favorite project in September.

The September 3 Christmas Lodge  is my all time favorite project made in 2012. It had so many intricate parts and details but I so loved the process of making it and the final outcome.

  6. I’ve recently discovered your blog, and have had a wonderful time getting to know your projects. They are all so beautiful! I had to force pinterest to stop calling your blog “spam” (probably because of all the links) so I could pin some of your projects! Love your work, and can’t wait to see more.

Every day I look forward to opening your site. I’m like a little kid opening a present.
Love each and every new card. I enjoy going back in your history and viewing more cards. They always bring out some new inspiration to use myself. I make cards for our Care Ministry at church. May God bless you and your family this year!

I think I agree with you about the favorite of the year. Tho all the houses are wonderful, the Christmas Lodge looks like a place I would love to spend some time in. Not just Christmas. Thanks so much for sharing. Big hugs, Jess
