Good Tuesday morning. I have another gorgeous pink rose that is in full bloom to share with you today made using Susan Tierney Cockburn’s Rose set.
I cut the petals and leaves using white and olive cardstock. I applied worn lipstick ink to the petals using a stylus and foam tip to create depth of color and formed them using the loop tool. I used the leaf tool and leaf pad to add the veining to the leaves and then sponged on peeled paint ink. I assembled the flower by following Susan’s step by step video and using crafter’s pick glue.
I created a stem for the rosebud by cutting a strip of olive cardstock about 1/2” wide and 6” long. I distressed the paper using the loop tool and molding pad to soften and make more pliable. I folded one side of the strip in towards the center and pressed down. I folded the other side over and glued down. I worked the stem with my fingers while the glue was still damp to make sure the glued fold held and to remove the flat and make it look more rounded. I applied crafter’s pick to the leaves and stem and attached to the back of the rose. I attached a large white scalloped circle to the back of the rose to create a perfectly finished base.
My husband asked me if he could send this rose to his mother. She loves my flower cards and has kept everyone we have sent her.
I thought you might like to see the measurement of this flower. I think the rose bloom without the stem would be so beautiful on a gift box or in a small basket.
Thanks for stopping by today. I sure hope you have been enjoying all of my floral projects made using Susan’s new line of dies.
