Sea Birds and Beach Scene

Good Saturday morning. I have a beach scene project to share with today using the Impression Obsession Sea Birds die set.  I love beach scenes and today I added some Iridescent Ice embossing powder for sparkle and created sea foam with liquid applique

I started by applying the brown ink to the beach area using my Color Box stylus and foam tip.  I used an old olive marker to sketch in some sea oats to add a little interest to the sand.  I masked off the sky line and applied the water area using the stylus and foam tip. I removed the mask and applied the clouds in using a hand cut cloud template and Inkssentials ink blending tool. I applied liquid applique to the water area for sea foam and smoothed it around with my finger to get the bubbles out and heated with my gun.  Next I light touched the scene directly with my versa pad and then heat embossed with embossing glitterI cut the birds and applied pumice stone ink with a mini applicator.

I cut the frame using the Matting Basics A  set and attached it over the scene with mounting tape.  I added another little layer of hand cut sand dune and tucked it in behind the frame.  I added the die cut grass for added dimension and interest and finished by attaching the birds to the scene.  I'd like to walk into this scene and walk on down the beach.

  2. Good Morning, Kittie, This is magnificent, I love the shadows behind the birds making them pop. It maybe from the lighting but I think it adds interest. With them being set with 3d foam they would give this impression as you have done. I love the feel of the sand, the waves foam adds reality. It just a magnificent scene and well planned, and well done. Ready for a walk on the beach to enjoy the beauty……have a good day.

  5. I would LOVE to be there too. After living in a land-locked state, for twenty-five years, I really miss the East Coast! You did a sensational job on the authenticity of this wonderful card. TFS.

  6. I love the beach scene and would like to use some of the techniques you used on some of my projects. I would like to suggest (ask) you to do a video on how to create the sand and surf areas of the card.
