Good Thursday morning and welcome to the Impression Obsession Design Team “The Gift of Friendship” challenge. I love the sentiment “Just having one of those thinking of you days” from the Solid Tree set. I thought it would be perfect paired with a pretty outdoor scene. My project was made using the new Single Beach Chair, Tree Die, Leaves and Stems, Tiny Flowers, Small Grass Border and Small Bird set.
I started by applying a cloud background to the scene base using blue ink and a hand cut cloud template and ink blending tool. I attached the cloud base to the green matting layer with mounting tape and then attached that to the white card base with another layer of mounting tape I love the dimension the two levels add to the project.
I cut the tree and colored it with a Copic marker. I cut several leaf branches , cut the stem off of each one to shorten and then attached to the tree limbs with glossy accents. I loved that the leaves added more height and width to the tree to make it not only look more natural but also make it a more appropriate size tree to go along with the Adirondack chair. I formed lots of pink flowers with my stylus and molding pad and attached to the tree. I attached the tree to the scene base with rolled glue dots and then attached the grass border with mounting tape.
I wanted to make the chair appear more dimensional so I could two. I started by cutting the front legs off the base chair. I cut the seat and front leg portion off of the second chair and attached it on top of the main chair with a couple layers of mounting tape. Just a slight been inward on the arms of the chair added another touch of dimension. I created a tiny bouquet with stems, punched 1/8” circles and a paper ribbon to lay in the seat of the chair. The bouquet is a special gift for my friend.
I tucked a few flower stems in behind the grass for one garden touch. The blue birds were added for the finishing touch.

Hi Kittie, just wondering what were your measurements for the card. Every time I go to make a card folded like this it doesn’t look right.

Hi Kim, Thanks for asking. The card size is 5.50″ x 4.25″ but it is made as a vertical layout instead of a horizontal layout. If you are used to making horizontal cards this may look a little odd to your eye but it works great and still fits into an A2 sized envelope. I sure hope this helps.
