The Beach Fence

Good Tuesday morning.  I have another beach scene to share with you today made using my new Impression Obsession Beach Fence, Small Grass, Sailboats, Flip Flops and Sea Birds. I love this new fence die.  It reminds me so much of the dune fences along the coast of the Outer Banks.

I started by masking off the water line and sponging in the water using my Color Box stylus and foam tip. I added a small amount of Liquid Applique to the water to create the look of sea foam. I used my hand made cloud template and ink blending tool  to sponge in the sky area.    I cut two sections of sand,  sponged them with brown ink and attached them to the scene base.

I cut the fence, sponged with brown ink, cut it in two pieces and bent and tucked it in behind the sand dunes and attached with glossy accents.  I added a few springs of grass in behind the dunes to soften the scene.  I sponged the flying birds using a mini applicator and pumice stone ink and attached in the sky with rolled glue dots and mounting tape.  I finished by adding the tiny sail boat in the distance and popping up the flip flops on the entrance to the beach.

  2. Hi Kittie
I love all your cards & the attention to detail you put into each and every one of them.
I ordered the stamp Christmas morning for my cards this year. I just love the card.
Did you use all the colors of the reinkers on the arch and is there a video on how to do the watercoloring? Also what colors of cardstock did you use?
Thank you so much for all your inspiration!

  4. Hi Linda, I do not have a video on how I watercolored the arch. Sorry. I used Vintage Photo and Antique Linen to paint the arch. I used red and olive green cardstock and watercolor paper for the card. I hope this helps.

  5. WONDERFUL Kittie, such ALL your beach scenes!
But this one touches me…and I don’t know why.
Maybe the small sailboat enchanted me 🙂

  6. I just wanted to leave a comment because I don’t do this as much as I should. You are an inspiration and have been for over 4 years now. I follow your blog and I receive your newsletters daily and I love the cards you make! I have just become a New Stampin Up Consultant and I really hope that one day I can make a card and inspire someone the way you have inspired me. I know I don’t leave a comment enough but everything I open up my emails I always open yours. If I’m in a hurry for some reason I will leave it for later but I do add a str so I know to come back to that one. I do have some subscriptions that I delete without reading sometimes but I can honestly say I never delete yours without reading it first and viewing the beautiful artwork for that day. I love how you add deminsion to every card! I also love the flowers you make that are made by Susan ? Anyway I got several dies and the tools, Don’t tell Stampin Up, LOL Those tools are now part of what I use on a regular basis. Well enough for today, I did want to leave a comment since I haven’t in so long. I can’t wait till you make some Christmas cards.
