Good Friday afternoon. I have a fun project to share with you today but first I want to announce the winner of my ribbon blog candy. Congratulations to Jeanne H for leaving the 15th comment on my post. Jeanne please send me your mailing address to kittie747@cfl.rr.com and I will get your gift right out to you.
I went to my work place today for a baby shower for one of my girls. I was able to find the cutest baby gift bags to take all the new things I purchased for the baby. My friends, Steve and Tammy (husband and wife physicians that I worked with for 18 years) were attending the shower as well. They recently got a new little pug puppy and I wanted to take them a few puppy of the toys that have been a lifesaver for me with my little puppy. Sadly there were no puppy themed gift bags to be found so I decided I would make one myself. I pulled out my beloved retired Stampin’ Up! 1997 Bow Wow and retired 1996 Stampin’ Up! Meow Meow stamps and set out to make a fun backyard scene. I also added lots of texture to the scene using my favorite and beloved mini fern stamp from the retired Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Minis.
The gift bag is made with Kraft paper so I knew it would work well for a scene. I stamped all the images using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and heat set them. I colored all the images with Memento markers and filled in the grass area around the images using a Peeled Paint ink and a mini applicator. My animals sort of died in the scene after I added all the grass and grass texture so I decided to stamped them along with the roof, dog sign and dog bowl on white cardstock. I cut all the images out with my snips. I colored the accessories for the dog house and scene with markers and colored the animals using Distress Inks. I applied glossy accents to the images and popped right over the original images. I sketched the tree trunk with an black multi liner and colored it with brown markers. The tree top was sponged on with and ink blending tool and then I filled in with the mini fern stamp. I used an ink blending toll to add the blue sky area. I finished the scene by adding a few birds from the Impression Obsession Small Bird Set. I had to add a cat looking over the dog house just for my friend Steve because he doesn’t like cats…..and I do!!! LOL!
I couldn’t resist stamping the paw prints all around the bottom of the gift bag along with the sentiments-Stay Woof Sit Bow Wow and I Love My Dog. Since I added those I thought it only fitting to put the fire plug from the set in the corner.
For those of you who have known me for a long time you know that when I began stamping these kind of scenes were my favorite thing to do. We had no dies to cut out images so we used our scissors. I felt like I was taking a walk down memory lane playing with these sets as they are among my treasured Stampin’ Up! sets that I will never let go. I thought you may enjoy seeing some of my projects from years and years ago using these images and taking me back to my beginnings as a paper crafter.

Thanks for putting up with my little step back in time. Creating scenes with stamps, ink and sketching with an artist pen was the stepping stone to my love of creating scenes with die cut images. I hope you have a great weekend and as always I appreciate you coming by.
I love your little scene!!!! I bet the recipients were thrilled!
I love your bag… as well as all the ones from years back…

Oh my goodness I bet they were just as thrilled with your bag as they were with the gift, that is just awesome, one of a kind Kittie bag!!
These are so very cute! I love the ones from years past. We recently lost our sweet Daisy Mae, so these brought back some wonderful memories. I am sure your recipients will just love the bag and treats.
I swear I love your stamped scenes even more than your die cut scenes, and that is saying something!!! Would love to see more like this! Amazing 🙂
Wow Kittie, absolutely stunning creation. I love the scene with dogs, cat and the funny paw prints. All looks so fantastic.
Have a nice weekend.
Good Morning!!!
How cute…loved the history of your cardmaking. I, too, got my start with SU and remember all too well when we didn’t have dies. I have a wall of punches that were the precursor to dies, but I cannot let myself dispose of them. LOL
Fun post today….thank you.
Congrats to the winner.
Breathtaking!…each and every one of them….cutest doggie bag ever…and all of the others of yesteryear….see you have always always been so very talented…..we are so lucky to have you sharing all of your amazing creations with us. Know your folks were so happy to see you and of course bringing your craft along with you.

I just think your creations are amazing… I get so inspired looking at your blog!
Good Morning, Kittie, What an adorable bag,a gift to treasure. I love all the images you did on the bag, an the adorable cards. beautifully done.
by the way;, if you decide to do these adorable images on canvas bags, there is a medium that you mix with your colors so that they will stay on the bag when washed.
I do these many times. would be glad to share with you the directions.
have a good week-end…..LOL
LOL! Jan, I can’t get rid of mine either. I have a ton of Martha Stewart punches as well. They just sit up in my cabinet.
It’s obvious from your older cards that you were already a very talented artistic crafter when you first began. I was not, but thanks to stamps and talented crafters like you who share their crafts, I have improved greatly over the years. Thanks, Kittie!
All your creations are so awesome !!
