Handmade Die Cut Flowers Card for Ellen Hutson Blog Hop

Making a handmade die cut flowers card is so fun with Catherine Pooler dies and stamps.

My project today is a handmade die cut flowers card that I made for the Ellen Hutson design team blog hop to celebrate all the new Catherine Pooler products in the store.  I used the newly released Chevron Greetings and Ovals and Flowers Dies to make my clean and simple dimensional flower thank you card. I used the pretty Shea Butter ink to stamp my sentiment.

I wanted to have a green flower base for my flowers so I cut them on both green and yellow cardstock.  The flowers were formed using my Garden Tool Kit stylus and molding pad and I attached the sections together using glossy accents.  I secured pre-made white Nuvo Crystal Drops in the center of each flower with glossy accents to finish.

The oval was attached to the card base using mounting tape.  The sentiment stamp and cardstock was secured in my MISTI and stamped with the yellow ink.  I cut the sentiment layer to fit behind the oval frame and attached it to the back of the frame using small pieces of cardstock.  Double stick tape was attached to the back of the sentiment and it was attached to the yellow oval layer.

The flowers were secured in place to the frame with glossy accents.  I finished by adding a tiny flower and leaves to the scroll tip of the sentiment.  I think the little flower is so cute and adds another pretty element of interest to the card.

Making a handmade die cut flowers card is so fun and easy.

You can check out all the hop details in The Classroom.  If you are following the hop trail you should have arrive here from Kelly’s blog and your next stop on the trail would be to Lisa’s blog.

I sure do appreciate you coming by today and I hope you enjoy all of the beautiful projects our team has put together to celebrate having new Catherine Pooler products available at Ellen Hutson.  I had lots of fun making this pretty clean and simple handmade die cut flowers card and hope you are inspired to get out your dies and stamps and make one of your own.

  4. This is such a beautiful card. Flowers look real. In the peoducts used section, you show a Dremel. What is it used for? I have had one for years? What’s the crafting secret?

    • Margaret, I use the small Dremel to file down the little sharp metal points left on dies after they have been cut apart. Some die sets come attached together and have to be trimmed. The sharp points left are very difficult to hand file and cause lots of pain when stabbing finger tips. The Dremel makes quick work of filing them down.
