Good Thursday morning and welcome to the Impression Obsession Design Team “I Sea You” challenge to create a project with a sea or ocean theme. I really love the Life is Better at the Beach sentiment and thought it would be fun to use it as the main focus of my scene. For this project I used Better at the Beach paired with the Beach Chairs, Sea Birds, Small Grass Border and Grass.
The Water, Sky and San
I used an ink blending tool to apply Seafoam ink to the scene base to create the water and used a cloud stencil to create the sky area. I love how the blue ink is an exact match to the Robin’s Egg card base. I dabbed white embossing paste on the water area with my finger and then sprinkled it with clear glitter. I attached the scene to the card base using ATG adhesive. I hand cut two sections of sand using my deckle scissors and applied Tan ink with an ink blending tool. I used a retired Stampin’ Up! stamp from the Itty Bitty Background set to apply a small amount of texture to the sand using Tan ink. Both sections of sand were attached to the scene using thin strips of mounting tape.
Completing the Scene
I cut very thin pieces of mounting tape to the back of the sentiment and attached it to the scene base. I attached the chair between the sand dunes using mounting tape and tucked the grass pieces in place and attached with glossy accents. I applied Mist ink to the bird wings using a mini applicator, gently bent the wings with my fingers to make them appear to be flying and attached them to the sky area for the finishing touch.
