Greeting Cards with Succulents

Today I’m sharing two greeting cards with succulents using the new Rubbernecker Succulents #1 and Succulents #2 sets.  I had so much fun playing with the succulents and couldn’t resist sharing two cards showing different ways to use them.

The first card was made using the Window 4 Pane. Bicycle, Macrame Planters, Grass, Leaves and Greenery, Borders #2, Small Flowers #1 and Tiny Flower Buds.

I wanted the card base and window to be all white so the all the colored images would pop.  I used a piece of yellow designer paper for the wall inside the window so it would match the yellow bicycle.  The scalloped drapes in the window and the crimped awning over the window carried on the white theme but added dimension to the white theme.

The succulents were cut using green cardstock and colored using mini applicators and Whisper ink from Color Fuse Set 9.  The pot in the hanger and the basket were colored using a mini applicator and Citrus from Color Fuse Set 2.  The succulent pieces were arranged in the basket and hanger and attach using glossy accents.  I attached tiny cactus flowers to each to add color to the arrangements.

For this card I used the Rectangle Combo #4, Tall Terracotta Pots, Wide Terracotta Pots. Small Butterflies, Grass and Grass #2.

It was fun tot create the larger arrangements of succulents in the terracotta pots.  I chose to use more blue on the succulents for this card and used shimmer pens to create a shimmery appearance.  The terracotta pots were colored using the from the Color Fuse #2 set.  For this card I used both sets of the succulents and added pretty butterflies to finish the scene.
