Cute & Easy Handmade Die Cut Owl Birthday Card!

This super cute and oh-so-easy handmade die cut owl birthday card comes together so fast using a detailed die set and some patterned paper!

From the very youngest to the most mature, this easy handmade die cut owl birthday card is the perfect thing to send to anyone! It’s cute enough to appeal to the little ones and your older friends can appreciate your nod to their age-acquire wisdom with this charming owl. I used very few supplies for this project – Rubbernecker’s Build an Owl, Owl Birthday Add On, Balloons, Outside Scallop Frame and Spook-Tacular 6×6 Paper Pad – and thanks to the details being taken care of by the dies, all I had to do was cut and assemble.

A sweet and easy handmade die cut owl birthday card with lots of colorful details made with the dies.

Card Base and Frame

  • Cut an A2 sized card base using white cardstock and a 5.50″ x 4.25″ section of designer paper.
  • Use mustard cardstock to cut the second largest Outside Scallop Frame die.
  • Apply ATG adhesive to the designer paper layer and attach it to the card base.
  • Adhere strips of mounting tape to the back of the frame, center it and attach it to the card base.

Build a Birthday Owl

  • Cut the Build an Owl sections using light gray, dark gray, white and mustard cardstock.
  • Assemble the pieces and attach them together using glossy accents.
  • Cut the Owl Birthday Add On sections using purple, mustard, orange and white cardstock.
  • Assemble the cake pieces, attach them together using glossy accents and attach the cake to the owl using mounting tape.
  • Cut the birthday hat using purple and mustard cardstock, attach together using glossy accents and attach to the owl using glossy accents.
  • Apply a large piece of mounting tape to the back of the owl and attach it to the card base.
  • Finish by attaching touches of yellow stickles to the candles, stars and hat topper.

Birthday Balloons

  • Cut the balloon sections using purple, mustard and orange cardstock.
  • Attach the balloons to the string sections using glossy accents.
  • Apply one layer of mounting tape to the back of two of the balloons and a double layer to the third balloon.
  • Attach two of the balloons to the frame and the third one directly to the card base.
