Square Pop Up Box Flower Card

Come see how to make a beautiful square pop up box flower card.  I used several flower and foliage die sets by Bras and Bliss and the card base was made by The Paper Cut and comes in a kit that provides five pre scored card bases and insert tabs.

I haven’t posted for quite a while because I fell a few weeks ago and broke my knee cap.  I had surgery to repair my knee and have been laying around in my recliner and keeping my leg totally straight to heal.  All is going well and I start physical therapy next week.

The Box Base and Layers

  • Use the bone folder to reinforce all the score lines .
  • Cut the cardstock layering pieces.
  • Apply double stick tape to the back of all the layering pieces and attach to the inside back cover and flaps and the outside sections of the box. s
  • Apply double stick tape to the side insert flap, line the box sides up and attach the two ends together to form the box.
  • Adhere double stick tape to the ends of three tabs and insert them inside the box.

Decorate The Box

To make the box base I used the Square Pop Up Box Card.  I love making multicolored flowers with a yellow and white base.  The combination really highlights all the flowers.  I decorated the box with white  scallop rectangles made using the Small Scallop with Holes Nested set.  I used Stackable Flowers and Leaves #1, Stackable Flowers and Leaves #2Stackable Flowers and Leaves #3, Stackable Flowers and Leaves #4Poinsettia #2, Spring Flowers, Foliage Trio and Large Ivy.

  • Use green cardstock to cut both types of foliage and set aside.
  • Cut al the different flowers set using colored cardstock of your choice.  I love using bright colors for the flowers.  I don’t necessarily care if they go together on color wheel.
  • Form on the individual flowers using a molding pad and a round stylus. I formed some of the flower petals by bending them around needle nose pliers.
  • Assemble all the flowers section and attach them together with a good strong holding glue.  I prefer Glossy Accents.
  • Begin attaching flowers and foliage from the back and work forward so you can the different levels from front to back.  Pro Tip:  Some of the large foliage sections were attached to the back of the box before adding the flowers.  Working forward I attached some of the flowers first and tucked the foliage around to fill in the bouquet.

Here is a listing of all the products I used to make this colorful square pop up flower box card
