Die Cut Card for Mother’s Day

Make a beautiful die cut card for Mother’s Day with Flowers using the newly released Brass and Bliss Build a Bloom Clematis die set.

This is my favorite color combination to make feminine die cut Mother’s Day card with flowers.  I love the new Build a Bloom Clematis die set and how the large paper flowers highlight the sentiment.

To make this die cut card I used the Brass and Bliss die sets Build a Bloom ClematisDot Dash Nested ArchesNested TagsBranches and Leaves, and  Mother’s Day Set clear set.

Card Base and Arch Layer

  • Create an embossed layer for the main card base.  I used the retired Garden Party embossing folder.
  • Attach the layer to a white card base using double stick tape or Nuvo adhesive.
  • Apply strips of mounting tape to the back of the Dot Dash Nested Arches layer and attach it to the card base.

Flowers and Foliage

  • Cut three sections of the Build a Bloom Clematis.
  • Place the paper flowers  face down on a molding pad and form the petals using a large round stylus.
  • Turn the flowers face up on the molding pad and push down in the center with a small round stylus.
  • Place the small flower centers on the molding pad, form them with a small round stylus and attach to the flowers using Nuvo adhesive.
  • Apply a generous amount of adhesive to the back of each flower and attach to the arched layer.
  • Cut three sets of Branches and Leaves.
  • Trim the foliage sections as needed, tuck them under the flowers and attach using adhesive.
  • Die cut the Nested Tag layers, stamp the sentiment and attach the tag to the arched layer using adhesive.
