Farm Scape Scene Z Fold Card

How to make a Z Fold card base by The Paper Cut to create a dimensional scene using lots of wonderful die cuts by Brass and Bliss.

To make this card I used the Brass and Bliss Farm Scape, Tractor, Farm Animals, Picket Fence, Half Tree, Winter Tree, Springtime Animals, Corn Stalks, Tiny Leaves #1 and Classic Tabbed Grass.Make a Z fold card using dies by Brass and Bliss

Z Fold Card Base

  • Cut the card base using white cardstock.
  • Cut the scene background layers using blue cardstock.
  • Attach the blue layers to the card base using ATG adhesive.
  • Cut two grass sections using green cardstock about 1-1/4″ tall, attach them together using double stick tape to create the grass background for the scene and attach them to the card base using double stick tape.

The Trees

  • Cut two tree sections using Kraft cardstock.
  • Apply brown ink to the trees using a wet baby wipe.  Heat dry the ink with heat gun.
  • Cut several sets of the tiny leaves.
  • Gently form the leaves using the leaf tool and molding pad.
  • Attach the leaves to the tree branches using glossy accents.
  • Apply thin strips of mounting tape to the upper back portion of the tree trunks and several rolled up glue dots to the back of several leaves.
  • Tuck the tree trunks in behind the grass layer and attach them to the card base.

The Barn, Box, Fence and Grass

  • Cut the barn using red,  white, grey and black cardstock.
  • Attach the roof using strips of mounting tape and attach the doors and window using glossy accents.
  • Apply mounting to the back of the barn and silo, tuck them in behind the grass and attach them to the card base.
  • Cut three card box inserts using green cardstock and score the ends on each side at .50″.
  • Attach double stick tape to the back of each tab end .
  • Space the three card box inserts apart evenly and attach the left side of the tabs to the card base.
  • Attach the corn stalks to the inserts using glossy accents.
  • Cut fence sections and attach them together using glossy accents.
  • Apply double stick tape to the back lower portion of the fence and attach it to the card base.
  • Attach the right side of the three card box inserts to the fence to finish the box.
  • Cut two sections of grass, attach them together and attach them to the front of the fence using double stick tape.

The Tractor and Animals

  • Cut the tractor and wagon using red and black cardstock.
  • Attach the corn pieces to the wagon using glossy accents.
  • Assemble the pieces and attach using glossy accents and mounting tape.
  • Apply mounting tape to the back of the tractor and wagon and attach it to the fence.
  • Cut the animals using white cardstock.
  • Color the cow and chickens using a black Copic marker.
  • Attach to the cow and chickens to the base using mounting tape.
