This card is for the Ways to Use It challenge today on Splitcoaststampers. We were to make a card with some type of music theme. It could have been a card with a song title or something that actually reflected music in some way. I have had this Music Background from Rubbernecker for quite a while and this was my perfect opportunity to use it. I also have some Ranger Distress Crackle Paint and thought I would that as well. I painted out a large area of Old Paper crackle paint on a piece of cardstock and let it begin to dry. I helped it along a little with my heat gun, too! I stamped the music image on the crackle layer with Brilliance Black Graphite and heated to dry. I used Brushed Corduroy Distress ink with a sponge to add depth to the old looking paper layer. I distressed the paper and ran the edges across a versa pad and embossed with gold embossing powder. It looked too new so I used a gold Copic Marker to go over the gold and to let the alcohol distress the embossing powder and to create and aged gold look. I repeated the same technique on the chocolate layer. I painted another little piece of cardstock with the Old Paper crackle paint to create my little hand painted rose bouquet. I didn’t know if I could paint on the crackle but it was worth a try. I used an artist pen and brush and reinkers to create the flowers. I sponged over that with a Brushed Corduroy to make it aged and to match the music layer. I used another portion of the crackle paper to create the dry embossed layer under the main image. I added a little versa and gold embossing powder to the little flower bouquet after I cut the layers with my Nestabilities. I went over all the gold embossing again with the Copic marker to create an aged gold look. I even used the Copic on the metallic ribbon to tone it down. I embossed brads with gold and aged them with the Copic as well. Alcohol ink does a job on embossing powder. I really love the look of this card although it is way out of my normal comfort zone. I’m sorry I am not adding a picture of all my accessories tonight as it is too late and I didn’t have the time to set up the picture..

Kittie, you must have been exhausted after creating this beauty–I am after reading all you went through to get just the right look you wanted. It is gorgeous! I love what you did with the copics and the ribbon. I’m not familiar with the crackle paint, so this was a wonderful tutorial. TFS

This is a masterpiece! Thanks for sharing!
Kittie, this is yet another beautiful piece of artwork! I love it. Do you actually send your cards to people or do you just produce them as pieces of art? Once again I am in awe of your creativity!
