Stripes, Flowers and Laundry

The Technique Lovers Challenge on Splitcoaststampers today was to mix things all up.  Remember when it was not a cool thing to use stripes, polka-dots or flowers together.  Those things needed to be used with solid colors for home decorating or clothing.  Today’s challenge was to use designer papers or to create patterns with stripes, flowers, etc and use them together on the same card.  I had fun with mine. I used coordinating striped and floral paper and created a fun scene with the Rubbernecker Laundry Days collection. I stamped all the images, colored and cut them out. I wanted to create a simple little scene but allow the designs of the paper to be part of the scene. There really isn’t much to tell except that I placed everything around to look a cute as possible.  I did do a little paper piecing on the ironing board with one more little piece of coordinating paper.  Other than that it was just color, cutout and pop on to the card. I love the doggy with the underwear but my true favorite is the cat in the clothes basket.  I have two cats and there is nothing they like better than to hop in a basket full of warm clothes right out of the dryer. It’s so cute.

  2. Spending 10 rubbernecker bucks is never difficult. I could open almost any category and find a stamp. The problem I have is stopping at one or two, or five, or ten. So I would buy rubber with my bucks!

  3. Rubbernecker has so many stamps that I want it is so hard to choose! I think I would get a couple of elephant stamps (I collect elephants) or a couple of the collage style stamps I have seen Shelly make great samples with. Thanks so much for the chance!

If I won the $10 gift certificate, I’d probably get a package of Dew Drops. I need to add to my collection.

  7. What would I use the $10 for? Well, my Henry rooster stamp is kind of lonely without Henrietta. AND that chicken wire background would look great too!
