This card was created for the Sketch Challenge on SCS today. I have been kicking around the idea of trying to paint crackle paint on to solid image stamps to see how it would stamp. Today is the day to try. I cut my layers according to the challenge layout. I painted them with Distress Old Paper Crackle paint and allowed to dry and then helped along with my heat gun. I took a small brush and painted the images from Garden Silhouttes with Weathed Wood and Peeled paint and stamped on the crackle finished pieces. The paint did not leave full perfect images but I really liked the basic outline that it left. I took my brush and added tiny dots of Weathered Wood to the flower area to supplement the stamped image. I used the brush to fill in the stems with Peeled Paint and then took a Staedtler olive fineliner to add tiny solid lines. I used a brown fineliner to add some accents to the flower centers. I used my brush to add Distress Weathered Wood reinker to the flowers to deepen the color. I sponged the borders of the three image layers with Distress Vintage Photo ink. I used Nestabilities to cut the scalloped layers, sponged them with Vintage Photo and distressed them as well as the image layers. I thought the moss twill, sponged with Vintage Photo for aging, would be the perfect embellishment for this old fashioned card.
