Rubbernecker Color Challenge-RBC03 and Preview of KK Originals

Some of you who have been stamping for several years or more, may have heard of KK Originals, a line of stamps drawn by Kathy Kaberline. KK Originals are fresh and unique images, that the artist has drawn with her on personal twist.

Rubbernecker Stamp Company is pleased to announce that they have obtained distribution rights to KK Originals. Starting Tuesday, April 1st, KK Originals will be available for purchase on the Rubbernecker site. However, today you will be able to see previews of some of the images available, by visiting the blogs of the Rubbernecker Design Team. We’ve all made samples using KK Originals for the Rubbernecker Blog Challenge today.The colors for the Rubbernecker Blog Challenge today are pink, lavender and green. I love the scenery images in the KK Originals line.  I am going to have a fun time with all the flowers, sprigs of grass, etc.  I chose to use a little watering can and flower and grass sprig to create my scene for todays challenge.  I stamped the images on watercolor paper with Brilliance Black and then I sketched in some trees of my own, sponged in ground colors of green and brown to create a garden scene and placed the can right in the middle of the scene where it was left by the gardener. I have never used the Cut & Dry nibs before today but tried one out to add dirt texture to the garden ground area.  I love the effect.  I usually don’t use Copic markers on watercolor paper but I did today and colored the flowers and sprigs as well as the can with them. I used a large round dry watercolor brush to add the green grass area around the flower heads and then sponged in the rest of the green area with a large dauber.  I sketched in the trees with a Copic Multiliner and watercolored, and filled in the leaf and grass area with a small dauber and the fern stamp.  I added little flower along the tree line by just using the tip of the Copic markers and then sketched in little sprigs and stems with the liner and colored with the Copic.  I loved the Create sentiment for this scene and wanted to make the little tag hang from one of the punched corners with twill.  My friend, Jeanne S gave me this punch and I love it for big scenes like this.  I added a couple of flower sprigs to the sentiment tag as well as daubing a little green along the bottom of the word to make it appear to be growing in the garden as well.  This was a fun card to create.
