Card Positioning System Sketch Of The Week

Rubbernecker is sponsoring the CPS Sketch of the Week. I found this to be an exciting layout and would have never thought to do a one sided border in this fashion.  I love how my project turned out and know I will use this sketch again.

I cut a piece of watercolor paper to fit a 3″ frame and stamped my images with Archival Black.I watercolored the image with reinkers and a watercolor brush and then filled in between the sunflower stems with a small foliage stamp to add some softness and interest. I lightly sponged yellow around the flowers and stems to highlight them and make them pop and then sponged in blue for the sky area.  I used a small 1/4″ sponge dauber to lightly apply yellow around the birdhouses and it makes them really pop out of the sky area. I cut frames with Nestabilities. dies and attached them together over the scene and attached to the card base. I created the scalloped border with the new SU scalloped punch and attached to the side layer panel. I pierced the scallops with a large needle for a delicate touch to this country scene. My finishing touch was the twill bow. I used no background stamps on the cardstock as I love the clean and simple look of this card.

  2. Kittie, this is just amazing! I love your Kittie stamps, this is a perfect scene. I can just see a row of birdhouses out in a meadow with sunflowers growing all around them. Such a sweet “take me back to yesterday” scene.
