I got home from Texas on Monday evening and it was a little tough getting up to go to work yesterday. Needless to say there was lots of late night talk and stamping with eight of the design team being together for several days. It was well worth the fatigue though as I had so much fun.
As you may have read in my Texas posts, we were given a ton of new rubber. Rubbernecker Stamps is releasing seven new background stamps today. We love new stamps!!!!!Sherry chose to challenge us to use backgrounds for the Wacky Wednesday challenge.
There are lots of uses for background stamps but I made two quick and easy cards to show off how easy it is to create a simple and elegant background and to dress it up with a simple image layer or sentiment.
This first project uses Abstract Floral background and a sentiment from Stamp Oasis Petite Word Set. I used olive craft ink for the image and sentiment and embossed with clear embossing powder. A quick layering of cardstock and a ribbon and my card was complete.
I created my second project by sponging pink ink on glossy paper, heat setting and then embossing the Wild Flower background image with brown craft ink and clear embossing powder. I used markers to color one of the flowers and stamped it on a piece of my new Simply Smooth white cardstock by Prism. I used Petal Pink Liquid Pearls to dab on dots to add dimension to the image.
I hope you will go and check out the Wacky Wednesday Challenge and see how you can win one of three gift certificates to Rubbernecker. You can also see all seven of the new background stamps there while you are at it.
