The Limited Supply Challenge on SCS was to to use beach images or themes. I have lots of beach themed stamps that would have been fun to play with but I felt in the mood to try my hand at a hand painted scene.
I created a mask using my largest square Nestabilites die. I wanted to have a plain border around the scene. I sponged in the water and sand using a Color Box stylus and sponge tip. I hand painted the palm trees and grassy areas using a small brush. I used a hand cut scalloped cloud template to sponge in the sky. I added sea foam to the water’s edge by dabbing on Liquid Appliqué and heating it. When I was finished I decided there was no need for an embellishment as it would only distract.
Stamps: None Ink: Vintage Photo, Peeled Paint, Cool Caribbean, Barely Banana Paper: Fabriano Note Card 5”x5” Accessories: Brushes, Sponges, Stylus and Tip, Cloud Template
Ahhhhhhhh, I would love to be in this scene. GORGEOUS, Kit!
An embellishment would definitely have been tragic. This is a masterpiece! I’m with Sherry! This is my idea of heaven!
Your talent really shines with this one. Just beautiful.
