Wacky Wednesday #27

It’s time for another Wacky Wednesday challenge. Where does the time go?  Bev is hosting today and has challenged us to “Cut it Out”.  Check for all the details on the Rubbernecker blog  post and come along, grab your scissors, and ‘cut something out’!

I chose to make one last summer beach scene before we cruise into the busy season of making fall and winter holiday cards. Two of my favorite images for summer and beach scenes is an umbrella and  Adirondack chair. I had to laugh as I uploaded this card into my file and saw how many cards I have that are very similar.  I never tire of trying to capture the feel of relaxing by the shore.

I stamped the chair in the corner of a 3.5” x 3.5” piece of watercolor paper. I cut the frame out around the chair free hand using my craft knife and then cut the chair out using my snips.  I painted the beach and chair, sponged in the water and sky and set aside. I painted in the sand line on the background scene layer and sponged in the water line and sky area.  I stamped texture on both layers using a sand dune image from my Beach Master and  used a mini tip applicator to create the green sea grass sprigs.  I added white sea foam to the surf using a white sharpie.  I stamped the umbrella on scrap watercolor paper, painted and cut it out. I mounted the chair frame over the background scene using mounting tape and attached to the card base. I popped the umbrella up over the chair using mounting tape. I sure wish I was sitting there today instead of going to work.
