I had lots of fun this morning creating a winter card with a darling snowman couple in the Let it Snow set by Impression Obsession. I think they are so cute.
I stamped the image with black craft ink and heat dried. I masked the snowmen and stamped the trees from Flaky Friends and Loads of Love and heat set. I painted the whole piece of watercolor paper excluding the snowman images with clear water to prepare the paper for accepting my blue sky wash. Leaving the images dry keeps the color wash of the sky from running into them. I painted in the sky area and over the trees with a wash of aqua reinker and then added a light blue to create the night sky. I used a light wash of yellow around the star to create a glow. I painted the trees and snowman using reinkers and a brush and heat dried. I used a small brush and white craft ink to paint in the falling snow and the snow on the tree. I wanted to cover the bottom image lines of the snowmen so I also painted the white craft on the ground area. I heat embossed the whole project with white embossing powder. I then applied glue to the ground area and applied the white Flower Soft. I added a touch of Flower Soft to the pompom of the snowman’s hat. I cut an additional star and popped it up over the tree and added Stickles to add some sparkle. I love the new Eskimo Kisses paper by BasicGrey and thought it was the perfect thing to layer behind this snow scene. I tried out my new Shapeabilities snowflake dies to complete the project.
I hope you have a wonderful week.
