Fishing Bear, An Old Red Barn and Baking a Treat

I had fun stamping this weekend.  It’s been a couple of weeks since I had the opportunity to get inky and it was a pleasure to enjoy the creative process.  I had to clean up my work area before I could even see my desk but it was well worth the work.

Today Jay Jay is hosting a Stampavie Design Team blog challenge with a sketch by Diane.  I don’t do very

well working with so many pieces in a layout so I created my background scene and cut it into tiles matching the layout.  I stamped the Penny Johnson fishing bear, painted and cut out and popped up over the scene to represent the tag area.  It may be a bit of a stretch for the sketch but I had fun making it.  Don’t look too closely or you will see that my SU paper cutter cannot cut straight lines anymore.  Everything is a bit crooked.

I created this barn scene yesterday and got it totally finished before I realized that I had stamped the barn a little crooked on the oval.  I had so much watercoloring in the sky and ground area and hand painting the trees that I didn’t notice.  After all that work I decided it wouldn’t matter if it was a little wonky.

It was my turn to post the Stampavie blog post this week and I chose this sweet little Gillian Roberts Baking a Treat image to work with. I sketched in the floor boards with an artist pen and painted all the bright colors using a brush and reinkers.

I hope you all have a wonderful week.  I am on the final count down to go to Cape Hatteras, North Carolina for our annual family vacation/reunion.
